Sequels Reboot.

X3 Storm was the closest to the comic version, and that's not saying much.

I have no idea how this managed to become a thread about which film's Storm is better...
I'd prefer to have them restart from scratch in a couple of years with new actors.

Plus, I don't think the original five would be that bad... depending on how it is done. Most of those characters were and still are well loved in the present movies, no? Anyways, that's my personal opinion.

Cuz Storm is awesome...she's one of the highest profile characters that got the crappiest treatment in the movies. Storm has been a top fighter, leader, morale officer and powerhouse for quite a while... the movies captured very little of that.

X1: She had an accent, as Storm should have. She's was actuallly wise to a point, and challenged Wolverine on a moral/thinking level. As Storm typically challenges everyone.
X2: She's had a character arc, small as it was, as Storm should have. She also had a part abou the right size for an ensemble movie (which the X-Men series failed to be)
X3: She actually looked good, with believable white hair, as Storm should have. She used her powers decently, and the spinning was a nice touch. And she was a leader... she actually acted like one on two seperate occassions. They actually tried to show off her fighting skills... meh.

In short, if they combine the best parts of Storm from all three movies, they'll have something that not only is compelling, but will actually resemble the comic book character. Unfortuntely, niether Fox nor Halle-bashers will stand for it.

I think that a continuous movie would be best, unless the franchise is going to rest for 10 years. There are successful X-Men books that don't feature Xavier, Scott and Jean (see everything buy Astonishing nowadays)... there can be movies that do the same (and Scott could be alive too).

Worst come to worse, brink in Havok and Polaris to be your new Scott and Jean, if you just can't handle X-Men without those archetypes.

If I see another X-Men Film with Wolverine in it, I will personally seek out Lauren Shuler Donner and slap her. I'm still waiting for an X-MEN movie. So far all I've seen is Wolverine 1, 2, & 3. What happened to the team having leaders? Why the hell can Beast fly? WTF is Mystique doing naked all the time? Why is Rogue a raging b**ch? Where's Scott? Where's Pitor? Where the hell is Storm? Not "Halle's little hissy fit character" but Storm, actualy Storm, from the books?

Also don't forget to VOTE:

There's nothing wrong with Wolverine, but I didn't really see him in the movies either, I saw some guy who acted tough but was always crying.

I agree, the characters weren't there, none of it was right, and it's good to see people like yourself not afraid to state the truth on how horrible the Singer movies were and, there's nothing wrong with not being another one of the sheep that say they'll bend over and take whatever singer gave them. It's a crime we true fans who really know the X-men didn't get a real X-men epic as it should be.

At least they got the Spider-man films right.

Yes. They did. :cmad:

Uhmm? Your point? Tobey cries weird? People aren't suppose to be beautiful when they cry, Tobey isn't beautiful to begin with, but you get my point.

There wasn't much of a point, i just wanted to use that gif.:o

But no, they didn't get Spidey right. Read a Spidey comic(not the recent stuff) and tell me that's Tobey on screen. Tell me that's MJ. TELL ME!!:cmad:

That's MJ on screen? MJ danced all the time. MJ is an aspiring model/actress. MJ has had times where she felt she was going nowhere. MJ's party girl persona was really a place to hide for her. She had issues.

Spider-Man cracked jacks. Not every scene, but he cracked jokes.

In the last two films the impression I was left with is that Peter made her unhappy.

"You're the one who's out, Gobby. Out of your mind!"

Peter didn't make her unhappy? Not being with Peter in part 2 made her unhappy. Part 3, Peter's growing attention to his career as Spider-Man and his inability to listen to her when she had problems to share with him made her unhappy. But Peter himself never made MJ unhappy. She loved him, still does.

Unlike him she instantly regretted her kiss with Harry. Peter just nonchalantly did a kiss with another girl in front of the entire city and herself and tried to play it off as ''She's just a girl."

That's silly. He's responsible for the choices he makes, whether that's rejecting her, but still pining over her, and not being an attentive friend. In the 3rd film his arrogance, and selfishness while she was going through a difficult period made her unhappy.

which I think was out of character

A reboot for this franchise is a no-brainer. But as long as it remains under Fox they will milk this franchise for all it's worth. Don't expect any high quality fantasy films from Fox anytime soon.

It's a cryin shame is what it is...X-men were basically wasted on three lackluster, conservative films in comparison to the Spider-man franchise.

they will not do a reboot. the films are too successful to consider a reboot.
making a X-film more comic like, goes against what the X-men are about. their about fitting-in in the real world. the more realistic it is the more its messages will be put across. that is why this last decades x-men comics have fitted in more with real life.
your plots for the 3 films arent thought up that well. Sentinels...Apocolypse...Dark Phoenix in a trilogy. it would never work. you have to build films up, not cram every favorite saga into a film.
For the plots you listed there should be at least 2 trilogys.
look at how long sagas went on for in the comics.

There is no need for a reboot. The trilogy is fine as is.

A reboot would be beyond stupid, and a horrible move on Fox's part.

To be honest, I like the more realistic approach Fox took with the X-Men series. I loved Spiderman 3 and liked Spiderman 1 (I haven't seen Spiderman 2), but the comic book feel has a tendency to come off as silly when played by real actors. The bright colors and outlandish storylines work a lot better in comics and cartoons than in movies. I'm glad it was toned down in X-Men, and I think they should continue in that vein. They should remain in-line with the comic where it fits, but not be afraid to pull away from the comics when it begins to look silly. You can read just about any other post I've made to get an idea of what I mean. :)

i would love a reboot 10-20 years down the road but i would like for it to capture the realism that singer was able to do in the first two. x-men is a pretty serious and complex comicbook compared to a lot of the campy/ pure fun ones like spider-man and f4.

OH and get the rights AWAY from fox! hurry!

I pretty much feel the same way. I wouldn't be opposed to it, although I wouldn't mind if it was sooner than 10-20 years down the road.

And Fox is almost stupid enough to believe this which is why the rights need o be taken from them.:o
