recast lex!

it's apparent to me that they are bringing lex back as the main villain this season. since we have no idea if michael even wants to come back i just say recast him already.

i dunno anymore what to think, i know in the future sequence they had michaels photo as lex as president so maybe he is already cast? every interview ive seen makes it sound like he had a falling out with the writers or something.

well not really, darkseid is technically are main villain they are slowly building up. As for michael returning as lex. We dont know what is going on behind the scenes, is michael coming, are they still working on a deal, or is it not happening. Things can change between now and if the plan is for him to show up in the finale. So there is no need to recast proper age lex now unless when we get close to filming the end michael didnt agree to come back.

lex is supermans main villian even if he's in the background only. i agree, lets wait and see if he agrees to come back but if not id want a recast and a good story to show why he looks different. we already saw the young and old lex which didn't even resemble michael at all. i just wish they would throw us a bone about this already.

yea i would only recast if plan falls out and michael doesnt agree to return. But since we dont know what is what right now. I just think its to early to worry. We got plently of time left. well you also got ot remember the old clone was like a 50 yr old lex, and the little lex is only kid/young teen lex, which they are actaully using some actors who prevously was used as young lex. So it works.

In all honesty I would have done a season long plot in S8 of them rescueing Lex and nursing him back to health only to reveal the new recasted Lex in the final then you can use new Lex as a villian in S9. With the way Lex left the show in S7 it would make perfect sense him looking different.

I am a firm believer that the character is bigger then the actor playing him when it comes to superhero based shows. I know recasting would have rubbed some people the wrong way since they love MR, but I would have had 0 issues with it.

At this point in time though it's to late in the game to get anything out of a recast Lex and they might as well just wait for MR to come back and do 1-2 episodes and if he doesn't so be it. The cloning storyline sort of lines up with my nurse Lex back to health idea as well

Well i think what they are doing with the clone aging is a nice way to hold off older lex. So they can if they havent already yet secure michael return. Hopefully he will be back so we get him to be lex again. Plus its really no different then all the death/cloning lex done in the comics, just smallville's own twist on it. plus the producers have said in the past they didnt want to recast the role. Its probably always been their plan for him to return.

there is no logic to bringing Lex back, and not bring Rosenbaum back... think about it. He's already in, they just haven't told us yet... recasting is unecessary. And if they did recast, it would be a weak move on their part... and I'm sure they don't want to reveal again, how poorly they plan ahead on this show... especially in their final season

If Rosenbaum comes back as Lex, I'd rather not know. It'll be a much better surprise to see him revealed on screen again.

yea it would be best to keep it hidden as long as possible, so its a nice surprise to see.
