Recommend me some PS3 games.

So I've recently learned that a Playstation 3 is heading my way this Christmas. With Metal Gear Solid 4.

So after my wallet recovers from this brutal gaming/holiday season, I need to know what games to play on the PS3. I'll definately be picking up Little Big Planet. I've also had my eye on Valkyria Chronicles and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

I know Uncharted will be mentioned. I know next to nothing about this game, other than it's called "Dude" Raider by some and is supposedly a clone of Tomb Raider (which I'm fond of). If you're going to recommend this, then explain to me why I need to play this game.

So, unless anyone objects to Motorstorm 2 or Valkyria Chronicles, what do I need on my PS3?

P.S. Don't bother recommending any multiplatform games, because I either...
A. Already own it.
B. Don't own it and don't want to own it.
C. Would rather own the Xbox 360 version.

Uncharted, because from the little I played, it seems to be the best adventure game I played. Not to mention the graphics are killer on it and the game play buttery smooth.

There's also Resistance which is a nice FPS and has a pretty interesting story. I would give Heavenly Sword a try (just got it so I can't really say it's good or bad but the overall opinion is that it is pretty good from those who have played it). Ratchet and Clank (great looking game).

If you ask me, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is a pretty unmissable PS3 exclusive that never got the light it truly deseved, you can't go wrong with that. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is also a GREAT remake of the old Xbox game that you can only get on PS3.

You're right to go with MotorStorm 2, and Valkyria Chronciles, they're great. If we're talking into the future, well look no further than my sig...

Ratchet and Clank for PS3 is the first one of the series I played and I wasn't lost at all. Good enough story...the game is just rediculously fun and some good humor in it aswell. A definite Must-buy in my book.

Uncharted is NOT a Tomb Raider clone. TR is a game thats focused on exploration and puzzle solving. Uncharted is more story and action oriented.

From whats not mentioned, I guess I'd reccommend Resistance 2m if you are looking for a good FPS. LittleBigPlanet is also a must

yes theres a story mode. Its a 2D platformer. You can get a good idea of whats its about by watching some clips on youtube.

Good choice in picking Valkyria Chronicles, it trully is an amazing game you will love it. May I also recommend Heavenly Sword, which is a preety kick ass game.

Uncharted and MGS4 are the two best games this gen, IMO. Since you're already getting MGS4, Uncharted is what I recommend first. It has a great story, the gameplay is great (think tomb raider meats prince of persia but better IMO), and the voice acting is top notch.

Motorstorm 1&2 are great racers, as is Wipeout HD from the Playstation store. Warhawk is a good and fun multiplayer game, and is only $30 now. If you're in to anime Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is the best Naruto game to date, and fun with the best cell shading I've seen yet. Resistance 2 is a very nice shooter with some great co-op. Little Big Planet is great.

Also a lot of good exclusives are coming out soon as well. The ones I listed above tho are the main ones that pop to mind. I'm sure I've forgotten something, and there are plenty of other good games. Uncharted tho is probably what I recommend the most. I've played it thru several times and it never gets old.

Infact, I'm heading back today because I got a PS3 exactly 4 days ago at Bestbuy. I'll demand the free game or just bring the system back...

The new Socom? Pretty sure that's the one I got a beta trial from from Qore. Honestly, I didn't care for it in the least if that is the same game I tried. However if you're a Socom fan you may like it. There's probably someone else on the board here who would back the game, and I don't want to put it down since it was just the beta I tried. It's just that I got the feeling that it gave me nothing I couldn't get better in a game like CoD4.

Also, if you want a football game I'd go with NCAA 09...Madden 09 is terrible but NCAA 09 is pretty decent minus a few flaws.

I just recently got LittleBigPlanet and if you don't have it and you own a PS3...well:

GET IT IMMEDIATELY!!!

that's game is amazing. The story mode is fun as hell, you can play with up to 4 people on and off-line...the level creator is insanely awesome...and browsing other peoples levels online is reeeeally fun.

Not to mention sackboy is very customizable and just a straight up badass (not really, but he is hilarious and very fun to use). Smacking other people around never gets old. This game will never get old.

Seriously, it's a terrific game. get it...get it now.

P.S. the Metal Gear Solid levels rock.

Not that I know of...but some have demos you can try...can't you go on and have a look for yourself? It's free you know.

If you're looking for demo's, just go to the demo section. There are trials of various games, some you can buy from the store, most are from the bigger titles tho. As for not being many, in the demo section it tells you the amount of demo's. Currently there are 68 PS3 demo's, and 20 PSP demo's. Not all are great, but that's 12 shy of 100 total demo's. Plus they update on a weekly basis so there should be more.

Also if you create accounts in other areas like Japan or Europe you can download their demo's as well (and they do have different games and demos than the US PS Store for the most part). In fact I recommend doing that, Japan (Tokyo should be the same, but with some English mixed in) is the blessed in content compared to everywhere else.

This a great game. You should check it out Spoons. It's online multiplayer only, so they worked really hard in making it work amazingly. Beware though, it's very addicting. I have about 220 hours logged already.
