Rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been accused of plagiarism by a radio station in the US.

The station WGMD, based in Delaware, has produced compelling evidence that the band's new single 'Dani California' is a rip-off of the Tom Petty track 'Mary Jane's Last Dance'.

The show's producer Jared Morris said "The chord progression, the melody, the tempo, the key, the lyrical theme...they're identical."

The presenter of The Morning Show has produced an MP3 example of the two tracks to help people make up their own minds.

listen to the debate here:

The chord progression and the drum beats match. This is totally weird...

we've already discussed this in detail . . . see my thread: "Red Hot Rippi Offers?"

Damn. I just got sent this today. Sorry.

Close thread.

yeah i saw this about a week ago. what i find really funny about this though, is that both tom petty's album that has last dance with maryjane on it and stadium arcadium were produced by the same person.

you would think someone would have caught that before the album was released.

umm, yeah, thats not the same subject as my thread.

can anyone see my first post in this thread, because i can't.

Your thread is a duplicate of a different RHCP thread, as noted in the thread you posted. This one is a duplicate of the RHCP thread linked above. Two different threads. Both are duplicates. Congratulations and mahzel tav.

Isn't it just "mazel tov"?

I dunno, I've only been to like, one Bot Mitzvah ever. And that's the extent of my Jewish experience.

please don't post in this thread anymore.

if you want to talk about the red hot chili peppers feel free to do so, otherwise you are just being annoying.

He has a point, though. You DID create a duplicate of another thread. And it's a habit of us Hypesters to point those kind of lazy blunders out to people.

If you don't like that, you probably should find another forum or stop posting threads that already exist.

heh. Tad's defending a copy of a thread that isn't even his/her's. :):up::up: WAYTOGO

Learn how to use Search. Learn how to defend the right thread. Learn not to make duplicates. Learn how to not come on a message board and tell people not to post in threads that aren't even yours. Learn the culture of a message board before revealing your lack of social graces to everyone. Learn when to keep your mouth shut.

This is the thread you created

It is a duplicate of this thread, here..

This is the thread you are posting in and defending right now, which was created by The Avatar, not you

It is a duplicate of this thread, here.

As you will discover, the subject of your thread is not groundbreaking in any way shape or form and has already been covered before by many on this board, myself included. If you had bothered to use the Search function before posting, you might have known that. I was trying to be nice and help you see that the topic had already been discussed and steer you to that previously established thread. Instead, you decided to be an ass about it. Kudos to you! Welcome to the Hype!
