Yawn- the world's mightiest mortal and Asgard's mightiest god clash- same old, same old.

Thor may possess Class 100 strength( meaning he can bench press up to 100 tons) but the Hulk( whether he is "Green " or "Red" misses the point), even relatively calm can exceed this- and as he grows angrier in the heat of battle, his strength increases exponentially.
There are many other factors at play of course, experience( Thor has CENTURIES of it), willingness to win, et al, but when dealing with Ol' Greenskin, brute force trumps all considerations( as The Crimson Dynamo aptly noted in HULK# 258, by himself the Hulk has defeated the combined forces of the Avengers and Fantastic Four).

Anybody think as I do( the Hulk will either win or it'll be a stalemate)?

Terry

they'll have thor lose to establish red hulk as being a serious threat then green hulk will take him in the rematch...

bah

I'm actually interested in this match up, love it when Hulk and thor fight, even if it'll be the wrong hulk this time around. I would've said WWH could beat Thor, now he can focus his anger, it's on an entirely new level and he seemed to be alot smarting in his fighting. However, the fact that he displayed none of this against red hulk and lost worries me a little, WWH was imo the coolest of the bunch, I don't want him to turn stupid. Now saying that, I think thor is going to lose, well not so much lose but will be beaten down with green hulk coming back, saving Thor and stepping in for the rematch against red. I know there are alot of people that wouldn't want to see that but as a diehard hulk fan I'd love it, for Greenskin to save Thor.

I would just like to see the Hulk be the Hulk as he was in WWH and not regress back to how he was before the last few years.

Totally uninterested in the fight, and totally uninterested in the Hulk book at this point. I continue to read only by virtue of my intense Hulk fanboyism, and the slim hope that Loeb will come to his senses and take this book somewhere interesting.

PH/WWH were the best Hulk's been in a long time, and instead of carrying those events and what they did to the Hulk and Banner to new places, Jeph Loeb decided to have issue after issue of brainless brawls, with a Banner/Hulk who acts as if PH/WWH never happened. Am I the only one who remembers that Banner was on the same page as the Hulk? When they came to him for help with the Red Hulk, he should have told them to get bent. He should be suffering from massive depression.

I don't know what happened to Jeph Loeb. Did he hit his head and lose all his talent? Between this and the offensively bad Ultimates 3, I just don't understand what the hell is going on with him. Can we please have the old Jeph Loeb back? Hell, if he had explained the presence of the savage Hulk by saying that the trauma and grief of PH/WWH had caused the Hulk to suffer psychological regression, that at least would have been something. Instead, he's apparently opted to act like PH/WWH never happened and had no consequences.

Bad, bad move.

This post summarises my feeling very well and I am going to quote it in the comic book forum.

Red will choke Thor out, and then claim he could kill him whenever he wanted. :whatever:

I noticed alot of people downing the Red Hulk. He's a cool new character. As for red fighting thor, you know he has st establish himself. I think that they are going in a good direction minus the Green Hulk becomming savage again. I do agree that they shouldn't lead on like WWH never happend. WWH Vs Red Hulk would be a great match up, that would've been the way I would have done it.

I agree, alot of people are saying it would be ridiculous and out of continuity for red hulk to beat Thor but red hulk is a new character whose top power levels thus far are unknown. While I don't think it's the greatest story out there, it's good for people that just want to see some good old smashing and fighting. I'm hoping Hulk will hit his head or something and get his gravage persona back, the WWH personality is my favourite, he's the strongest hulk form, smart, tactile and ruthless.

I wouldnt be suprised if, much like prior to Planet Hulk, he just snaps out of it...I mean he was exposed to another gamma bomb in that reverted to stupid hulk and then just snapped out of it...

Red Hulks radiation might be messing with his own gamma radiation causing this change in attitude...

but on a side note I can see the Hulk/Thor battle going much in the same way as the battle did in the Ultimates cartoon..Thor launches his hammer, hulk uses brute strength to pick it up and throw it back taking Thor out for a few moments.

Then green will jump in.

Red's not worthy to hold the hammer.

watch ultimate avengers...Hulk wasnt in that either but he used pure power and strength to pick it up...the more he tried the angrier he got and thus got stronger and picked it up and threw it at Thor...

Right but this arc seems to be completely out of continuity anyway...

All of a sudden after months of being intelligent, hes back to being dumb again...

They could do anything...but yes I see your point

What....the...hell?! Banner can't pick the thing up (he hasn't really done anything evil in his life) and Red hulk (who had no issues with causing an earthquake that killed people can grab the hammer?!....I need a drink...mmmm draino and rasberry smoothie..
