Simple question - Red Skull or Kleiser, which villain would you rather see Captain America fighting should he get another shot at the big screen?

Red Skull. Kleiser is a wannabe Red Skrull. Johann Schmidt is the real deal.

Red Skull. And his skull should really be red this time.

If they're keeping it faithful to the comics, which I hope they are, then without question Red Skull.

I think a nazi theme is a little old and so if they use Red Skull, I'd prefer something updated like a terrorist organization.

Didn't stop Hellboy.

Red Skull...and captain america should be set during WW2 damn it

Red Skull. They should have the movie start in WW2 then have him freeze and come back, to fight a updated villain and it turns out red skulls behind it.

An arab Red Skull? Lame! Der Red Skull is supposed a Nazi, end of discussion, the coolest version of the Red Skull was always a Nazi. Besides the first movie should be set in WWII, so Der Skull should be a Nazi field commander in the film. The Red Skull should be a timeless evil, reminder to Captain America of his struggle against the Nazis, not updated to suit whom ever is the main political enemy of the decade.

Doesn't have to be Arab. Most people don't really care about historical settings much.

It was a WWII setting for about 2 or 3 minutes and the rest was in modern day. At best, if it's a minor setting it would work. However, if it's for the entire movie, I think it would be a turn off.

Regardless the Red Skull must be a Nazi, whether he is in WWII or modern times. The Skull is supposed to be a haunting reminder of Cap's struggle during WWII, a reminder that without vigilance the evils of the past can return to plague the present. Imagine how scarey the Skull would look decked out in a Nazi SS uniform, that would be horrifying. The Skull could be a terrorist in modern times, leading a Neo Nazi terrorist group, but he must remain a Nazi, it is core to his character.

Red Skull and maybe Lukin, like in Brubaker's awesome Captain America run so far.

Not all things that work in the comics works in real life. I don't think it's going to work personally.

People aren't all that interested in Nazi themes. I'd rather keep them interested and treat the movie as an alternative time-line than necessarily keep pure.

The Nazis are classic villains, pure evil and really good dressers too. Who were the villains in Helloboy, Nazis, who do Indania Jones fight in most of his movies, Nazis. Nazis have worked time and time again on film. It would a great throw back to the golden age of comics. I mean what, do you want the Skull to be an Islamic fundamentalist or something, have a beard, a turban and a robe, no history with Captain America in the war. That just makes him a lame, generic, Hollywood terrorist villain, he would be boring. The Red skull being a Nazi is core to his character, I can compromise on many things, but not that.

Indiana Jones came out 27 years ago in a time period where the evilness of Nazism could still be related to, because most people who had a level of experience with it (whether reading live news reports or living in a death camp) were still alive and they could directly tell their children about it.

Hellboy worked because Nazism was, at best, a minor aspect of the story. Nazism only took up a couple of minutes and then the movie went on to other aspects.

Of course I'm not saying that the terrorism organization needs to be Islamic, it could be some secret European organization bent on overtaking the world. The movie could start out in WW2 where Cap's origin takes place but have him frozen in time until today, where themes are the same but are more modern.

If red Skull isn't a Nazi, then he is nothing more than a generic Hollywood terrorist villain. The Red Skull must be a Nazi and must have fought Cap during WWII, otherwise he is just some boring, James Bond knock off villain, Cap battle will the Red Skull should be timeless, the battle should pick up, right where it left off in WWII. Cap waking up and fighting a lame, generic, Hollywood terrorist with a skull mask, would put me to sleep.

Let him be a Nazi than and then let the movie make only $150 million in the box office and then you'll be blissfully happy.

Red Skull.

But I hope they get his character right and get his appearance correct as well.
