Reed Timmer and his crew shot this incredible video of a tornado yesterday in Wyoming. For those who watch StormChasers on the Discovery Channel, these are spoliers for the upcoming season.

For more videos of Tornadoes, you can catch Reed's website http://www.tornadovideos.net/

Tornadoes are f'ing insane.

Never seen one, but I won't be surprised if I do considering I now live in tornado country.

My god, that was incredible. We really don't get tornado's here in Rhode Island. RARELY happens. Hasn't happened in my life time yet.

S**t man, that's awesome.. shocking.. striking.. all that

I think Reed and his crew were in something like the TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle). It designed to withstand Tornado winds (EF1 and EF2) and the debris that flies around. The video is incredible to watch.

I've always thought Tornadoes are fascinating frightening. I saw one when I was around seven years old forming down by Plant City when I was coming home from the airport. I was so incredibly scared. I think if I were to see one now it would be a mixture of awe and complete fear.

While inside the Goshen County, WY tornado on June 5, 2009, TornadoVideos.net recorded an astounding 155 MPH wind gust with the roof-mounted Wilson anemometer! TVN Instrumentation Specialist and TwisterData developer Dave Demko says, "[TVN] recorded a peak one-second average horizontal wind velocity of 155.2 MPH (approximately 3 meters above ground level) at 22:25:59 UTC (2009-06-05 22:25:50 UTC correcting for datalogger clock drift) after the crew stopped and lowered the vehicle! Keep in mind, given the performance limitations of the wind monitor instrument in highly turbulent flow, that this observation almost certainly does not represent the highest wind velocity actually encountered by the SRV while the tornado's core flow region traversed the vehicle. The highest three-second rolling average wind speed (official WMO/NWS definition of a "wind gust") was 150.2 MPH -- WOW!!! These speeds are squarely in the middle of the EF-3 range (136-165 MPH).

That Tornado was an EF3. I wonder if they needed to change their drawers after this?

I gotta watch the video when I get home, been waitin a long time for this.

Reed Timmer and his crew intercepted another tornado on June 17th. This time the driver's side window was blown out. Everyone was ok except for some cuts and bruises.

That's one hell of a vehicle. I never seen a tornado in person but it must be really amazing to see something like that up close.. unless you live in the general area.

No.

But I NEEEEED to see a Tornando. This is annoying. We've had like a billion here in Denver, and I havent seen one...atleast not close enough. Tornados are one of my favorite things. I used to study them when I was younger, I know all the signs....

That's was pure awesome. Especially the God's Hand at the end.
