"Above is a bunch of proof of concept art I did for a Batman miniseries pitch Kate Leth ( @kateordie ) and I put together last year.

Inspired by DC’s recent Batman ‘66 series, our story would have picked up the threads left by Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. We would have seen the return of Selina Kyle/ Catwoman as well as introductions to ‘Burton-verse’ versions of Robin, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. It also would have showcased the turn of Billy Dee Williams’ Harvey Dent into Two-Face.

We had a lot of fun ideas for the series overall, but in the end it was turned down. Regardless, these were fun a lot of fun to draw and Kate and I got to bond over our love of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman."

That looks awesome! Maybe the reason why it didn't make it past the concept stage is because DC didn't want to pay the actors for using their likenesses?

That's a real shame. I've wanted them to do something like this forever.

If paying the actors to use their likenesses in a recurring monthly series is too costly, I still hope they one day consider doing a one shot graphic novel and/or animated movie of Burton's Batman 3. There's totally a market for it!

I'm not sure that's the reason. DC ran "Batman '66" for a few years and I'm sure they had to be pay to use the likenesses of everyone from the TV show.

It sucks so bad that this isn't going to happen. What a shame.

Maybe it's something they'll reconsider if they get the right pitch or the right team interested. Maybe around the film's 30th anniversary.

Only just heard about this.

Goooodammit. I've been wanting this to happen forever. Come on, DC. :(
