Ok, so I know there are alot of threads asking advice. I am not asking for advice. It's more a discussion thread about how parents deal with relationships.

This springs to mind, because, I RARELY sleep over at my girlfriend's or her. and if I slept round hers. I would be in the cabin, all by myself. I wouldn't be allowed to sleep in a bed with my girlfriend.

We've been dating for just under a year now. We're serious and I couldn't live without her at this very moment in my life (sounds soppy, I know, but true.)

My parents, are ok with her sleeping over and she did sleep over mine once before we went to a festival, but her parents didn't know she slept in a bed with me.

I mean, it's not just this, it's amongst other things. and I don't dislike her parents, I like them very much.

But what do you guys think on ths matter.

I think parents where kids themselves, therefore mistrust their own kids.
plus most parents think that their kids are dumb, or realize how dumb THEY acted as kids and now , watch in horror expecting their offspring to go down the same twisted road of perversion that they took.

In other words, your in-laws are fah-reeks man.

my parents are dead set against my girl sleeping in the same bed as me.. weve been together two years and im twenty. it pisses me of but then again i know where they are coming from. they are an older generation who don't take kindly to casusual sex and anything re;ated to the free lives kids and teenagers expect these days. my girl's parents were forced into it after taking advantage of certain circumstances but the the issue lies in what sleepign togther means. for them is = sex. for me. its just sleeping... especially when they are in the next room. so thats my defnece as to why i should sleep in the sae bed..

You have to respect her parents wishes. It is their daughter and their house.

I had to sleep on the couches and futons. Unless she has her own place, you have to suck it up.

I knew a married couple before they were married, that when they were engaged and had a wedding date, they didn't even get to "sleep" together til they spent the night at somebody's house and they were in their mid twenties and after that maybe not they were married.

don't take it personally.. all parents are like this..its called being protective of there child..even worse when its your girlfriends parents..daddys little girl and all that.. until you guys move out (if thats what you want to do of Cause) just play the game and let it ride so to speak..
