For the last year,I kept hearing much praise for this novel series,But every time I go into my comic shop I end up getting something else and so two months ago I finally ended up getting Vol1.

I loved it overall and now I really want atleast new two vol's!,Kinda hard right for me now though since I'm so addicted to"Wolverine in Hell",So I want to know IF any of you think it's worth keep getting!?.

One major issue I have with the first book though is the damn repeat in it like with the dial!,I usually don't have much issues with that stuff But in this case it kinda pissed me off bad and so I wonder IF it gets much worse in the other issues!?!?.

I think there is only 1 more issue after Vol 1, and then this series was cancelled.

And where did you hear praise for All Star Batman? From what i know... everyone hates it...

Cancelled??,Oh damn!,....Comic shop manager/A buddy/some guys I've talk to online.

So it got cancelled cause of low sales/angry fans or what??

All-Star Batman and Robin is a good book when everything is collected but issue by issue and only getting 2 issues a year along with the writing it was not all it was hyped up to be and people were disappointed.

It sold in excess of one hundred thousand comics an issue so yes, people out there do like it.

People with terrible opinions, but SO THE WORLD TURNS.

Always remember: reality shows tend to get higher ratings than the best scripted shows on TV, too.

Damn Scott Pilgrim fans and your annoyning spam! :p

Good to know I ain't alone!,Might as well get Vol2 this year and then just have all next year or so to get the last 6 issues.

Thanx for the info people!.

Sorry to disappoint but there is no volume 2. Thats the volume that comes next year once the 6 issue arc concludes... Which would be in 2011 August. :/

Everybody hates it,
It is much better to read the entire collectin than to read issue per issue, when i bought it i loved everything eccept batman being horrible to robin but i actually enjoy the story being told like this, and it´s so annoying to have to wait so much.

Everybody hates it,

The all-star batman and robin thread in SHH's Batman forums had a good mix of positive voice. Some liked it for comedic reasons, and i truly liked it for the concept and writing. Saying "everybody hates it" is like saying everybody loves the Dark Knight. Not true buddy. :p

The only way i'll read anything by Frank Miller is if he decides to write some more ****ing Sin City already. Otherwise, I'll pass and that goes double for Miller's Batman.

I personally enjoy most of Miller's work on Batman!,But so then next year I need to get 7 issues to complete the series!?!?....There goes $20 a month or so it seems.

Is it just me... or does the characters in All Star Batman seem very out of character?

Theres an issue where Wonder Woman appears with Superman, Plastic man and Green Lantern and the whole thing was really hard to read.

Miller is..... let's just say I dont think cares much about writing in character.

They're his interpretations of the characters. If it were actually in continuity, their portrayals would absolutely be a problem, but All-Star Batman and This Title Is Still Way Too Long was created specifically for Miller to go Miller-crazy on Batman. It's a bit depressing that it's selling so well while genuinely good comics languor down in the 50s on the charts, but it's not really hurting anything.

Miller does indeed has weird&often disturbing take on characters!,But I still like some of his style and plus I feel he does SOME fresh good spins on characters that need a little new boost.

I think his best work on Batman was"Return of the Dark Knight"!,As for AllStars....The repeating dial.did piss me of so bad/Lattern's part with him getting F'd up was damn F'd up! and Robin kinda annoyed me,But....

I loved Batman's even more intense crazy&bitter side though and Catwoman kicking ass!,Then really liked the character's look&feel.

I enjoyed the hell out of All Star Batman and Robin. I've only read the first volume once and doubt I'll read it again, but it hit all the right cynical notes for me. Like DKSA, it's a great "**** you" to everyone.

I think if you dont take it seriously and just enjoy the pretty pictures, it could be enjoyable. I tried to take it serious up until the issue where Batman paints the entire room yellow to annoy green lantern. At that point i realized that i was reading some sort of twisted black comedy from the dark corners of Miller's mind. I mean there are so many incredibly absurd things that happen in this book its hard to not consider this a dark comedy of sorts. Wonder Woman calling Supes a "Spermbank" and then making out with him, "I'm the goddamn Batman!", "I'm the F***ing Batgirl!", topless nazi women, crazy maniacal Batman, the list goes on.

For me personally not even Jim Lee can draw me into this, but thats just me. There's a place in the market for this book apparently if you look at sales.

The only thing good about ASBR is the art. Miller's writing is attrocious and I'm glad that Linkara tore him a new one in his review of this series.

I just popped in because I thought it was pertinent to tell everyone that Dick Grayson is aged twelve.
