Well the game hasnt been "officially" announced yet, but we do know Capcom is working on the game and that the game will be a "complete Reboot". Capcoms Keiji Inafune has recently stated that we will be hearing information on Resident Evil 6 "shortly"

So what are your guys thoughts? Do you want a reboot as in a remake of the first game? Or a completely new start with new characters and settings, etc?

I don't think I would want a remake, per se. I would probably be more interested in a hard reboot. New characters, new setting, new plot, etc.

I wonder if "soon" means PAX?

Hm, yea, im not quite sure what i want. I deff want zombies to return, but ill be a tad heartbroken if i dont see some classic characters like Jill, Chris, Claire, Leon, Ada, Barry, etc etc

I'll be really excited if they remade the older games as third-person shooters. I can't stand the tank controls of the old ones. RE4 is awesome (and I still haven't played RE5).

I think that could be pretty cool. Walking through the mansion in that close, over the shoulder perspective could be really, really creepy.

I would love the first 2 games remade with the RE5 gameplay and co-op. I played that Nightmare Mission in the the Gold Edition of RE5 and you went through a Mansion, looking for Wesker. There weren't many enemies. Only some Zombies lying on the floor that would surprisingly get up and those big dudes with the anchors.

Man, were there moments where my friend and I paniced. Because you see, that part of the game didn't give you much ammo. And you even had to defeat several of these monsters with no guns whatsoever. It's what I want from a RE game again. Zombies, a terrifying atmosphere and barely any ammo.

If they have co-op again, I hope the single player has an attache case like in RE4. I liked that more. Granted I haven't played RE5 yet (have Gold but still haven't opened it) but I've see how they changed who you hold items. I think RE4 was better since you could change weapons easier and organize it.

I liked RE5's system because it didnt pause the game while you were in it. I hope they kind of keep that in, helps induce more panic i think.

I also hope they'll develop another Online game. I liked the idea that you had to rely on teamwork and every character had different specializations. And that you also got to play as characters that weren't soldiers, cops, elite special forces and stuff.

As long as they keep the third person shooter element from 4 and 5, count me in.

I didn't like it for that reason. There are ways to induce panic without it also being a pain in the ass.

That honestly never affected me. I never thought I was in trouble while skimming through the menu. Though maybe that's because I always played with a friend and we had each other's backs.

Well you could in the RE5 DLC, at least a replica if that mansion

"Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi will not be returning for the sixth entry in the series."

yea i know, i bought that pack for just that reason.

I could easily play a remake of the 1st game like that.

True, but it wasnt a pain in the ass, it worked very well. Dead Space did the same thing and again, it worked very well. You shouldnt have the luxury of freezing time to change weapons in a survival horror title. You should be forced to make those decisions in real time and if you aren't quick enough you should suffer the consequences.

I wish they would do a Resident Evil Collection much like the rumored Mortal Kombat Collection

I doubt they would since they remade the first one and that holds up rather well. If they were to remake another, I think they'd go to a different game like RE2, and I'd actually want that considering its one of the best game in the entire series

I hope they don't mean a literal reboot in the broadest sense, there's really no need for that. I would like to see some new characters, introduce some new blood and help the series grow. Don't want to see the older character go, and I don't see any need to revamp them all that much in a reboot/remake either.

I would like to see the series return to it's more horror roots, while still retaining some gameplay ideas and element evolutions from RE4/5

I don't want a remake of the original game. We already have it on Gamecube and it is still awesome. Bring back zombies, keep over the shoulder camera and make small amounts of ammo the only resource with a new cast.

I'd love to play another game as Leon or see Leon and Claire team up again. I feel RE5 was a fine conclusion to Chris/Jill. But I don't want to just redo the mansion with better graphics again.

Very Interesting. I was actually overall disappointed with RE5. I loved RE4 though. I hope they go in more of the direction of something like the RE remake on the gamecube. I loved that game.

Oh yea i agree. I dont think we need it, i mean i still think the GC REmake is phenomenal.

Yeah, that's still my favorite horror game to this day.
