Return of Alice: The Creepy Trailer

[YT]46PfegxX1ls[/YT]

It's hard not to get excited about the return of American McGee's Alice.

Aptly named Return of Alice, American McGee's next twisted Alice game is shooting to outdo the original. EA Partners said they went to McGee because he had a passion for the IP and gave him a blank canvas to work with.

And just look how he's started to fill that canvas.

Finally! Been waiting for this ever since they announced it over a year ago. I really hope they release the original game on the PSN.

And 2011 is so for away.

Awesome. The original was a phenomenal game, one I wish had gotten more exposure. This can only be a good thing. I refuse to believe otherwise.

Alright, this game is looking totally sick. Loving it.

This is one of the those things i don´t get, it´s great that this game is coming out, but the original was released 11 years ago, so, why not release a HD version on XBLA and PSN?

Or a remake using the new engine.

I love when companies show that they have brains afterall....the original will be included in the console versions as a free download.

Awesome news, Isildur. Just checked Kotaku.

American McGee Says American McGee's Alice Is Coming To The New Alice: Madness Returns

American McGee Says American McGee's Alice Is Coming To The New Alice: Madness ReturnsPerhaps you're interested in playing the new fantasy adventure Alice: Madness Returns, but have never enjoyed the 11-year-old PC original. Worry not, for it appears that the first game, American McGee's Alice is coming to consoles as a downloadable game as well.

So says American McGee of American McGee's Alice fame, who tells CVG that a major incentive for purchasing Madness Returns is the original game.

To blockquote McGee:

"There's also going to be pretty significant release which is the original Alice brought over to the consoles so that a person who's purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns."

Looks like Mr. McGee may have let that cat out of the bag a bit early. Still, if the man's right, that's a nice little bonus.

I hope it got a decent face lift.

Time to resurrect this thread. I've got the game coming in from GameFly for PS3 as a rental, and I have the code for the "American McGee's Alice" add-on at the ready. Just to ask, though: is the game worth playing? I've heard it's pretty damn good, but I'd like to hear what you guys think of it.

I bought the game a week ago, it was on sale for $39.99 new. And I played through "American McGee's Alice". Good game. Hasn't aged very well, though. The graphics don't appear to have gotten much of a facelift either. I had a problem with how the game teaches you how to do things, but that could just be a console v. pc thing I've heard about. I mean, I'm happy I played through it. I have some context when playing Alice: Madness Returns, now. I would advise people go in knowing it's over a decade old, and made for the pc. If you go knowing all that, you should be fine with it.

I was a little disappointed with the lack of out-of-wonderland stuff. Not that I wanted to play outside of Wonderland, but just see more of what was going on out there.

But, Madness Returns has already made up for that with the beginning. I'm still in Chapter 1...and I'm really liking the game so far. The art direction is superb, the music is very fitting and adds to the mood of the game. Out-of-Wonderland looks very...Tim Burton-esque. There's an art style to the character models that I like alot. The platforming is fun and interesting. And the combat is quite challenging.

ALICE: ASYLUM Has Been Officially Revealed But American McGee Needs Your Help To Finish It

Following the Alice: Madness Returns underperformance, many fans of American McGee's work have been wondering if EA would finally green-light the third chapter in the twisted series. A year ago, McGee announced that he's working on Alice 3 and asked the community to spread the word via their social media to urge the publisher to let the director finish his trilogy - or at least license the rights.

It looks like that strategy has worked perfectly, at McGee revealed on his blog today that Alice: Asylum has entered the pre-production phase. According to McGee, “Alice: Asylum will present the story before American McGee’s Alice, with young Alice fighting through the trauma of losing her family."

Just like the original and its 2011 sequel, Alice: Asylum will be a third-person psychological horror action-adventure platform video game. It seems that McGee has changed his mind since last year's announcement and Asylum won't conclude the story, but rather tell what happened before the main events of American McGee’s Alice. The game will launch in 2021 on "all major platforms" and PC.
