A Goonies sequel? There have been many rumors over the years, and supposedly a script that fell into development hell, but as Hollywood continues to search for my recycled ideas – The Goonies never say die. Goonies director Richard Donner was approached (err corned with a video camera) by gossip site TMZ and dropped the bomb that “We’re doing a sequel” to the 1980′s classic film Goonies. When asked if any of the stars from the original movie would return for The Goonies 2, Donner responded “Hopefully all of them!”

He's been saying that every year. The day Goonies 2 comes out, Spawn 2 will too. Vapor ware!

It's not your bad at all but until the studio actually greenlits it, it's just all talk.

He could get them all back, even Brolin who I would give up my entire paycheck to see reprise Brand.

Extra points if they can bring the Troy character back and explain how the last 30 years of his life have gone...

They'll be lucky if they can get Kerri Green, I don't even think she's acting anymore.

Neither are Chunk or Data. And Corey Feldman is questionable, but he'll probably do anything for a paycheck. Regardless, I'd actually like to see this happen. Middle-aged Goonies FTW!!!

I think Sean Astin would probably want to direct it himself.

The Goonies is one of my favorite movies. Maybe not in my Top 5 but Top 10 for sure. I just don't see it. Does anyone really even want this? Over half the cast isn't even acting anymore. It's an even worse idea than Ghostbusters 3.

Way too much botox, for a dude who's in his mid 50's. It's uncanny valley scary looking.

And everytime a Goonies sequel has been mentioned over the years, it's always been an old Goonies and new Goonies type of premise.

Yeah, we've been down this road plenty of times over the years.

A little shocked to see Corey Feldman included in this after what he’s been saying recently.

Yeah he’s been pretty vocal at what a happy experience Goonies was.
