Richard Schiff is Professor Hamilton

Who is professor Hamilton?

When I was talking in the other thread about the need to get some more characters from Superman mythos in MoS, many dismissed the idea, I always thought tht in order to set up the world of Superman many supporting characters are needed, SR just had many characters that were in Donner movies but since than we have had Lois ans Clark, STAS, Smallville, JLU series so we need more characters in MOS.

I welcome the decision to include Prof. Hamilton, and hope that some more characters are included.

Who is professor Hamilton?

He is the chief Research Scientist at the STAR Labs facility, a top scientific research lab run by government in Metropolis, as shown in STAS. (Superman The Animated Series)

Maybe I should have said Emil Hamilton

Funny I was about to ask whether Hamilton was an important enough character to have his own thread.

I actually like the casting choice.

I'm used to the black version in STAS, but this will do fine.

He fits the role.

Cool. To think this cast couldn't get any better.

The best superhero movie cast ever, imo.

Seems like a good idea to me. I've only seen Richard Schiff in The Lost World, but I loved his character Eddie. So I'm good with it, plus having Hamilton in the movie forshadows some neat science fiction stuff, like genetic mutations or mechanical foes. It's all good news. :D

I never thought he looked black, though I did think Lex was at first.

Wonder what the odds are of him turning out to be just some random scientist who's on screen for about 30 seconds and is never even named on screen? People thought Jack Larson was playing Bibbo but he was just in the movie for a minute or so and there wasn't really anything but a generic bartender, and was even credited as "Bo" rather than "Bibbo".

Wasn't he the guy in the animated JL that created Powergirl or something?

Yes, but he created Galatea, not Powergirl, who is a clone of Supergirl and has a similar outfit to PG. You might also remember Hamilton as an ally of Superman from the animated series. In one episode he created a portal to a parallel Earth that Lois got sucked through, and worked with Superman to bring her back. And in another, he helped Superman to repair the phantom zone projector to send Jax-Ur and Mala back to the PZ.

Why does no one know who Hamilton is?

He is one of Superman's most consistent minor supporting characters.

Just off the top of my head, he's been in STAS, Lois and Clark, Smallville (twice!) and I have a funny feeling he was in Superboy too!

Btw, PERFECT casting for him IMO.
