🇺🇸 Ridin’ with Biden: It's Joever

US News
Benghazi, email server, Bill, Birtherism, neoliberal, and hubris. She was an awful candidate and just assumed people would embrace her now that a black man was no longer in her way.
I wouldn't have voted for her. :(

He's still the president. The term doesn't expire until January of next year. Does the debate thread really need pinning more than this one? :/

Considering it caused this:

Yeah. It probably does.

There's a second debate coming up in September between Trump and the nominee.

The Bernie Bros were right to fight the establishment during the 2016 primaries.

But protest votes during the general were not wise.
There were no more protest votes in 2016 from Bernie supporters who would've voted for the Dem nominee then any other year. It was less then those that refused to vote for Obama in 2008. The issue was Hillary and the Dem establishment not doing enough for the people after having powers for 8 years. 4 of those, unopposed.

Bye, Joe. Hope you haven't screwed us by doing this. :(

Well historically it hasn't worked out well for the parties of incumbents who stand down for reelection. So Democrats are not just fighting polling but history now as well.

I hope Trump loses, but replacing Biden at this point is going to be a hard sell. They needed to make this decision much earlier. Now whoever it is only have a couple months to sell themselves.

Is there usually any reason for the incumbent to stand down in those cases? Status quo from a prior win is best unless there is a good reason to change.

I think there are more positives then negatives. Especially when you look at how undesirable Biden was to his own voters.

That's what is being ignored. Biden is being replaced because he's super old, is acting it, and the voters have been asking for it. The 2/3rds of the Dem voters wanted a change. That's why this is happening.

There have been some worrying signs, and who knows if there would be anymore between now and election day. This changes the ground for combat now as Harris is so much younger than both Biden and Trump. “Sleepy Joe” barbs aren’t going to work anymore.

That’s what MSM told you. They wanted chaos, they’re getting it now.
That is what the polls said. Including the internal polls. Ignoring reality, doesn't change it.

Biden said he wasn't dropping out unless he was convinced he couldn't win. He doesn't think he can win.

They're going to be sexist and racist, with abortion on the ballot. Good for Dems.

The new story is what Democrat is going to fight off Harris and that's also not a good story to have happening. There should be concern that older Biden voters and white Biden voters will slip over to RFK and Trump.

Possibly MORE positives than negatives, but I don't think in the current conditions of the election no matter who it is will be in a winning position. Whether that was Biden or anyone else. Which is why we needed a Democrat primary very badly. So if it wasn't going to be Biden, a new candidate had time to sway voters. I don't think they will this close to the election
