The more I think about it, the timing was perfect for Biden’s announcement. He waited until after RNC coronated Trump and Vance before doing this. Now the GOP’s talking points about “dementia” or “sleepy Joe” are kaput.

Trump, a very unpopular loser versus a vibrant 59 year old woman with a record she can run on. If Kamala wins this year, it’s a master stroke.

I think he might have gotten a bad health prognosis over the weekend recovering from Covid and forced his hand. That’s probably why he said he’ll address it later this week.

I think even if that isn't the reason, it's the reason that they're going to provide

100% agree with Spider-Fan, they'll probably act like it was something health wise that has happened in the past few days but he's likely being internally pressured over his physical & mental capacity to do the job for another 4 years.

It's been going on for months, but it all came to a head after the alarming first debate performance which turned a lot more eyes & ears than normal onto his every word & movement in the subsequent weeks, which really did nothing to ease any concerns.

He's made the right call, but should have been a lot sooner.

The only time I was ever tempted, was the Obama Hope poster. That said, I'm very happy I didn't buy it.

So before Trump and not counting the Obama Hope stuff and your usual bumper stickers/lawn signs, the only political merch I remember seeing were some pretty lewd post-Lewinsky scandal Bill Clinton products, mostly seen at Spencer Gifts. Politics forum or no, this is the only real SFW one I can post here so take that as you will.

I could see her crucifying Trump in a debate.

Maybe she might have thought about it if it was apparent earlier that Biden might have issues this year. Or maybe she wants an easy life outside politics. She certainly had the presence and eloquence and would have likely driven a bunch of voters who otherwise won't be all that motivated.

I also do think that because of all the forces at play trying to undermine our democracy right now, it actually IS a good thing to be able to have a president who can remain more focused on the duties of the presidency while the Vice President campaigns. We need to be fighting on all fronts. I'm worried about the stuff that Mike Flynn is up to. The guy is legit trying to rile up insurgencies and do J6 but nation-wide, it's really quite scary if you're paying attention to it.
