Hell, these don't even just apply to policemen. I'm always conscious of my actions and emotions whether at work, on social media, with friends etc. because I don't want to be labeled as the angry black man.

I am of several minority groups (including Asian), but never, ever in my life did my parents have to sit me down and teach me down to the most minute detail how to act in the presence of a police officer. I am talking of down to the level of never making sudden movements, never raising your voice above a certain level, never breaking eye contact, etc. It bothers me that this is the social reality for black American men. The fact that this is apparently a necessary part of growing up a black male in America says to me that something is very fundamentally wrong with that country still.

That stated, I do believe this shooting was justified based on the evidence I have heard, and that turning Michael Brown into a folk hero is a bit of an ill-conceived notion.

Thank you! Glad some people get it and it not coming off as a crying party. To say that racism doesn't exist or blacks are just whining is someone who either doesn't see it or doesn't want to see it. I know plenty of good black people who have had issues with police and have never been arrested. All cops are not bad neither are all blacks.

And I agree about Brown. I feel bad for his parents loss but dude brought this all on himself. I don't care if the cop shot him 2 times or 200 times, he brought this on himself.

I think anyone of any race or nationality or whatever has to learn to cut it back some or they will be labeled "angry" or "outspoken". Anyone who complains all the time will be known as the complainer....it's the way of the world.

Yeah he may shot a black unarmed teen, but if it is for self-defense it's justified. The grand jury believes THAT to be the case!



No one else knows this cop, or at least has come up to talk about him.

So, how can we judge so easily this is not a good cop who did very wrong and should be charged?


What they know about this cop that damages his reputation that a lot of us don't know?


Besides from his friends and co-workers, who obviously has repeatedly said Wilson is a great cop, nobody else has said anything bad about him that we know to be proven true!

Not at the alarming rate and quantity of deaths that happens within Black communities. It's that type of thinking that makes people think there isn't a problem. There's a reason it's singled out and that's because of the disproportionate amount of deaths compared to other ethnic/racial groups in this country.

Then why don't Jessie or Al address those cities? Why is this one murder so significant? If I'm not mistaken, there was 30 shootings in one weekend in Chicago and not one of those guys came out and said one word. But as soon as Trayvon got killed, they were demanding justice. You can't have it both ways. Make a huge stink over Brown getting killed but don't say anything when dudes are turning Chicago into Iraq.

Were there deep racial undertones in those shootings in those areas? Or was that just gang violence? The unjust killing of an unarmed black youth which happens oh so often is going to draw way more attention than gangs in Chicago shooting each other like they've been doing for years.

This "one murder" is significant because we're being taken for idiots. A kid was shot dead and left in the street for hours, but Bob McColloch says that Darren Wilson didn't stand over Mike Brown's dead body all while there is a photo of Darren Wilson standing over Mike Brown's body floating on the internet. Its significant because they've been trying to implicate this boy in his own murder and hold him accountable. Meanwhile the cop has been on paid leave, received donations and just got married. Mike Brown's not going to ever do any of that now FOR NO REASON. He didn't have to die.

It's cool, it just seems you might be ill informed. I haven't been in this thread until now but I've been following the story since August. Its a narrative blacks are tired of. So trust me, I'm making sure everything I'm stating right now is factual.

When you have a prosecutor who seemed to half ass the indictment, is it really hard to see how Wilson got off going to trial. The prosecutor should not have taken the case when there was alot of questions surrounding him
