Sad sad news. One hell of an actor, one hell of a voice. I'm old enough that I can't say that his passing effects my childhood memories.....because I was 20 years old when STAR WARS was first released. But his voice and his acting was a major part of my adult life for 47 years. Condolences to his family.

I know he was more known for Star Wars and Darth Vadar which is iconic, but nothing resonated with me more as a kid than The Lion King which I pretty much watched on a daily basis. To me Mufasa was one of those iconic characters that always stuck with you whether it was through his voice or his overall screen presence and you just can't say that about most animated characters especially nowadays.

His role in The Sandlot is pretty underrated too IMO.

I can't imagine anyone else playing Darth Vader or Mufasa and I doubt those films would've would've reached the same heights without the legendary James Earl Jones.

His voice was one of a kind. As someone said, he added so much gravitas to these films.

I'm so very glad we had him for 93 years but now he is one with the force.

Oh, you know Disney will absolutely do that. Though, I don't think he's in the movie, right?

I wouldn't be surprised if we got scenes from the animated version or even behind-the-scenes moments of him voicing Mufasa.

Flight of Dragons is a forgotten animated film but it’s one of my childhood favorites. He played the evil wizard Ommadon and that was my introduction to Mr. Jones’ voice.
