RIP Stephen Hillenburg.
Whoa, wow. That is a surprse. Even though he revealed he had ALS last year I still didn't know. Sad to see him go. His creation will live on though. Spongebob is a great legacy.
Poor guy. RIP Stephen Hillenburg
He created something that was pretty much this generation's Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny, the character was that well known.
I forgot about his ALS. Sad to see him go, he added a lot of joy to my life.
Someone brought up a rather morbid point elsewhere, but I can't help but agree with it. These celebrity or famous deaths always happen in threes, right?
So in a short amount of time, we've lost Stan Lee and Stephen Hillenburg. Does that mean there's a third creator whose end might be near?
Sad to hear about Hillenburg, those early Spongebob episodes were a big part of growing up for me, and still make me laugh today. RIP.
Most people probably didn't know who this guy is before today, but his cultural impact will be felt by BILLIONS. Everyone knows who Spongebob is.
I mean his work was referenced in Infinity War.
Goodbye Mr. Hillenburg.
I didnt know this about him,
"Hillenburg graduated from Humboldt State University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Planning and Interpretation, with an emphasis on marine resources. He then became a marine biology teacher at the Orange County Marine Institute (now the Ocean Institute) in Dana Point, California. This interest, combined with his artistic talent and love of the sea and its creatures, led him to write and illustrate stories as teaching tools with characters that would later become the denizens of SpongeBob’s home, Bikini Bottom"
‘SpongeBob Squarepants’ Creator Stephen Hillenburg Dies at 57
Man, Spongebob was a huge part of my childhood, and even to this day my sister and I still quote it from time to time in our conversations.
RIP Mr. Hillenburg. Bikini Bottom will miss you.
He wasn’t really a “celebrity” but the creator of the “What are those?!?” meme, which was used in Black Panther passed away. His name was Brandon Moore, better known as Young Busco.
Huffington Post interviewed him in March and he regretted not trademarking the phrase. Light swearing in the article so won’t link but it’s out there.
Apparently he died in his sleep at 31. Damn.

President George H.W. Bush has passed.
He made it to 94. He survived WWII and being shot down over the Pacific ocean. That's a pretty good run.
RIP President George H.W. Bush. Had a feeling that once Barbara passed, he wasn't going to make it past the end of the year. He had a good run though.
RIP President George H.W. Bush
RIP to George HW Bush
He knew how to reach across the aisle.
