Pete Shelley, the singer and guitarist for the British punk band the Buzzcocks, died on Thursday at the age of 63. The cause of death was a suspected heart attack, according to the BBC. Pete Shelley, Singer for Punk Pioneers the Buzzcocks, Dead at 63 – Rolling Stone
The Buzzcocks were underrated. I would say Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Buzzcocks were the big three bands of the British seventies Punk movement. The three band even toured together in 76. You certainly hear the Buzzcocks influence in the more pop-punk and indie pop rock side of music that followed. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day said how much of a influence Buzzcocks was for him and his band. Everybody's Happy Nowadays is one of their songs I always liked. Ash and Chris Martin from Coldplay did a cover of the track for Shaun Of The Dead that plays over the end credits.
Yup, I'd agree with that. I'd probably put The Stranglers up there too.

I remember her. RIP Sandra.
Well that's a surprise. I always associated her with Clint Eastwood movies and thought he might go before her. I think they parted on bad terms. RIP.
But wait. She died on Nov 3 and it's only being reported now? Did no-one realise she was dead?
RIP Nancy Wilson. The multiple grammy award winning singer was 81 years old.
