Writer/producer Peter Allan Fields dies at age 84. Fields wrote for such shows as STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION, STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE, THE MAN FROM UNCLE, and THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. He also produced a couple seasons of DEEP SPACE NINE.

That one hurts. John Witherspoon was the OG comedy legend, I wonder what happened to him he was still so active.

Damn, man! Enjoyed Witherspoon as far back as The Richard Pryor Show and now to wake up to this news? Wonder if maybe they'll retire Granddad's character on Boondocks or simply recast him. Assuming they're going with the original voices.

lol when you can recite some of his catchphrases you know he had an impact. I remember seeing him Little Man, as garbage as the movie was, when he saw the dwarf Marlon Wayans and was like, "damn man you can't just be popping up outta nowhere, for a second I thought you was Chucky!"

I just saw this posted at the SUPERMAN MUSEUM Facebook page Super Museum -
We want to take a moment to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Christopher Dennis better known as "Hollywood Superman". We've just received word of his passing.

We've known Chris for many years. Many years ago he married the love of his life here in Metropolis in front of the Superman statue. He spent time with our family and showed lots of support for our museum and the Superman Celebration. Chris had a love for Superman, and an uncanny resemblance to Christopher Reeve.

Christopher Dennis portrayed Superman on the Hollywood boulevard for almost 30 years. He's been featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Confessions of a Super Hero, hundreds of news stories, television shows and documentaries. Chris has had many struggles and ups and downs over the years. We hope that he is at peace now. And we pray for comfort to those who loved and cared about him. -

I met him around 15 years ago at the Superman Festival in Metropolis Illinois. I was having my pic taken with Noel Neill when he stepped in next to her on the other side. I was wondering what was up with this guy, and then noticed the guys with TV cameras filming him. They then filmed him and Noel being asked questions. It turns out that a cable travel channel was doing a story on Metropolis and had hired him to walk around in his Superman suit interacting with people. When the show aired later in the year, it had him and Noel talking there, but I was cut out. If you ever get the chance, you need to watch the documentary Confessions of a Super Hero. It documents him and a couple of other people who dress up as Superheroes in Hollywood and live off of tips given to them for posing with the tourists.
