I miss the DC time travelers. Hourman especially. His series was a lot of fun. Now I'm stuck with Rick, the least interesting of the Hourmen, barely appearing once every two or three issues in JSA. :o

Problem with time travellers is the stories are limited by the effect they have oncontinuity.

Yeah, I know. But it was nice just knowing they were there. Now it seems they're all gone except for Rip and his ex-lackey/nemesis.

    True....

I think Hurman will return someday.

The door's open for him to. Rex just has to figure out how to reassemble him.

As done to death as it was, I really loved Hourman's search for his own humanity.

    Good ol' Hourman.

We ran out of anything substantive to say a long time ago, didn't we?

Indeed Changing the subject where is DP? I have been on for about a week and not seen him at all. That is very, very, strange.

He posts now and then still. He hasn't been on anywhere near as much lately. No idea why.

I hope he is O.K. A lot of people seem to have vanished.

Nah, man. His real name used to be Rip Hunter. He used to have a cousin called Dan Hunter.

I liked that. Real bad asses get born with a name like Rip Hunter.

Smart badasses take a name like Rip Hunter to keep themselves from being killed, though.

Still, wouldn't it be a pretty simple matter to just get some DNA from Rip and test it in various eras?

I believe that what happened to the Linear Men was shown in The Kingdom? But then they still existed later...hmm...maybe Mr. Mind killed them?

Thought I remembered something about him killing all the time-traveling people and whatnot.

I don't remember. I don't want to hunt for my 52 issues, either, so I'll just take your word for it. That wouldn't make much sense with Rip claiming he's holding them prisoner, though.

How about just travelling back along his personal timeline. That's something Hourman could do.

Maybe Per Degaton factors into the whole Linear Men thing. We saw him killing timetravellers in that JSA arc.

Yeah, I want that explained. Maybe Rip meant "I should have locked you up [when I was] with the Linear Men."

Maybe Per Degaton was the guy who killed time travelers, and it wasn't Mr. Mind I was thinking of. Maybe Per Degaton offed the Linear Men.

    Could be.

Hourman and Extant are pretty much the only time travelers I've seen use that personal timeline trick. Maybe it's something unique to them (and presumably Waverider, since Extant's time powers are just stolen from Waverider) or something.

We only saw Degaton kill Gabriel Walker though. We know Waverider got his ass murdered by Mr. Mind.

As for uncovering Rip's identity: one could probably fashion a device that could let you look into a person's timeline. Heck, they built Hourman. Somebody could just steal that tech and use it on Rip. Or you could go biblical and just kill every blond kid born 30 to 40 years ago.

Hourman's time powers were derived from the portion of the Worlogog he kept, not the 853rd-century tech used to build him.

It was still something Amazo could duplicate, as I recall. It's obviously possible via tech.

Ah, DC time-travel stories. Truly a rare treat in this day and age, but a treat nonetheless, the sort of thing that reminds you why everyone used to dig comics. Like decent Doom Patrol comics. Or Superman-Batman teamup books.
