Peter Green, Fleetwood Mac Co-Founder and Guitar Great, Dead at 73
Peter Green died today at age 73. He was one of the greatest guitarists of all-time. He had an incredible feel, touch, tone, and restraint. Due to a battle with mental illness (after a bad LSD trip), the peak of his career and time in the limelight, was unfortunately short. As a result, many of you reading this post do not know him, but I am certain that you know those he has influenced.
For instance, Black Magic Woman by Santana was not written by Santana. It was a cover. A cover of an early Fleetwood Mac song written by Peter Green. I encourage anyone with an interest in Blues or old-fashioned rock and roll to discover Peter's music. Here are some of his greatest works:
RIP Peter, one of the British Blues Greats.
