Theres so much we could do The ideas Ive had are all sorts of things, ranging from Full Metal Jacket with apes you could start this story again eight years from where we left off, the next generation of apes, those that have come from our protagonists, perhaps going in to a conflict with humans and showing real fear, in the same way as going into war for young soldiers in this day and age, telling their story. Or how apes are taking over cities, and being moved into human environments and having to interact with them and deal with things that are part of our culture and understand and evolve through them. Spies that are in the employ of the apes, working against humans and humans maybe existing underground, because thats a way they can avoid the virus, coming up above ground wearing gas masks, and maybe thats what dehumanises them.
OK, Let me start off by saying I loved this movie. There were so many things right with it. But there were a few things that made me go wtfunk?
Take the scene where Lithgow sees the neighbors car outside "With the door open" What? At first I was like oh that must be someones car and maybe they ran inside. Then Lithgows character sees it and gets in. But no, we learn that the car belongs to Dr. McKay whom appeared to be just inside his house. (And NOT in the Pegasus galaxy as previously thought.) That was pretty stupid and really made me go wtfrak...
Then also take the scene where Caesar gets out of the house and gets cornered by Dr. McKay in his back yard. First off, there is NO way that DR. McKay wouldnt have called the police. Especially when he has kids to be worried about. I dont think you're allowed to have a full grown chimpanze in a suburban house like that. Which brings me to another similar point...
There is No way that the neighbors would want to have that Chimp anywhere in that Neighborhood.
Also there is No way that Francos boss or at least his company wouldn't have found out about the finger bitting incident and fired his as on the spot. He stole company property (Caesar).
These are some of the things about the beginning of the movie that were all like "whatever", that would never happen.
Other than that I really did love the movie...

The door is open cuz the neighbor ran inside quickly to grab something, you can hear him go into his house as Lithgow is walking out.
He wouldn't have called the cops right then and there, maybe afterwards yeah he should have but in that moment he was doing what mostly any other parent would do and thats protect their child from a foreign animal.
Caesar was never once shown to be harmful and its pretty clear that he spent most of his time inside the house, so I'm assuming most neighbors just didn't know he was even there.
I'm going to see Final Destination 5 this weekend so later I may sneak into see this one too.
I'm actually shocked at the huge opening for this, from the trailers I thought it would bomb big time, it's clear that POTA has many fans and they're not just to see James Franco.
I don't know why people say comments like these. They're just dumb. Clearly the movie works because of ceaser, he is the main charcter and the entire plot revolves around him.
If you take Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader out of Star Wars you have a terrible movie, if you take out the joker from the dark knight you have a lame film, etc.... so whats your point?
They just do it to be *******s because there is no comeuppance when you're thousands of miles away.
Its an unwritten rule , you don't spoil movies for people...
Not knowing what's going to happen next is what makes movies some movies so great...

Just saw it, thought it was very good. However, I think the biggest thing working against this movie is its pacing. Everything happens waaaaaaay too quickly. Everything jumps from scene to scene and never really slows down. I mean a proper slow down. From start to finish the film is always running. I think it hurts it, because some of the emotional impacts, especially at the end, seem too quick to make the kind of depth or shell out the kind of punch it should.
Malfoy was annoying. I don't understand why the apes in the lab all have human eyes. Also, is Ceasar a character in any of the other Planet of the Apes movies?
Other than those gripes, I really enjoyed it.
