Except that they don't take over the city, nor they want to.

performance capture is in its infancy so I think his opinion is a bit premature
I'd say motion capture is a little more advanced than that. It was in its infancy ten years ago around the time the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Star Wars prequels were made. The technology really made a huge leap with King Kong, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, and Avatar.

fair enough...I think a good job can be done with the mixing of conventional costumes and motion capture but studios will go with what saves time/money

it definitely a ton easier to build this stuff in a computer as opposed to having it built and crafted in an effects shop

^^^

This is a fake clip right? Because there's a few shots where the chimp is just messing with the joy sticks and yet on screens the gun is firing.

-edit- never mind yeah it's obviously just a promotional clip.

This movie keeps looking better and better. It's nice to finally see some emotion from Franco which has been absent from most of the trailers so far and Caesar looks fantastic.

That is pretty much the International trailer which gives away the whole movie almost

Is that video on youtube Ape with AK-47 a promo video for this movie??

The ape still looks very fake to me when you see it in motion. Very distracting.
Personally I would rather they just used a guy in a suit or real one. As long as Carla Nash doesn't wonder on set it should be alright.

Man that trailer was awesome! Two parts I really loved was when Caesar protects Franco's character's dad, and at 2:10 when Caesar is standing with his "Brothers in Arms". I really hope this film succeeds, because I want more. One question, though, does anyone know how this film ends? Does it jump ahead at the end and show the destruction of all humans?

The movie ends with Caesar in his throne, as the news of the human race's extinction due to a mutated flu virus originated from one of the apes, Koba, are heard in the background.

I like the sound of that.:yay:

It don't seem so silly now, does it? It actually is creepy since that could possibly happen.

for whatever reason that new trailer makes me not want to see the movie. not that i was too enthusiastic about it before, but even less now. the trailer just bored me. and its almost distracting how fake the apes look.

It actually looks pretty interesting the only thing is the cg ape that looks so fake. It would be better (like someone said) if they used a man in a suit.
