THE GIRL WHO CRIED SHOTGUN - After new information surrounding Jason's death comes to light, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finds herself under a cloud of suspicion and forced to come clean about the last time she saw her brother. Meanwhile, Archie (KJ Apa) makes a tough decision that puts a major strain on his relationship with Miss Grundy (guest star Sarah Habel). Elsewhere, Betty (Lili Reinhart) decides to revive the school newspaper and asks for Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) help in investigating Jason's death, while Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Ethel (guest star Shannon Purser) work on exposing some of Riverdale High's football players after rumors of a "shame book" begin to circulate. Finally, after getting grounded by his dad Fred (Luke Perry), Archie must figure out a way to make it to the Taste of Riverdale event where Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and the Pussycats will be performing a song he helped write. Thus far this episode has been good overall but I am totally disappointed how they had Betty take charge in Veronicas storyline.

I can't stop cringing and laughing at the Covergirl product placements. Speaking as someone who owns like 50 lipsticks/lip glosses in different shades, no one uses or even remembers the actual shade names. You just refer to them as the bright red, warm pink, whatever. [/endrant]

i came to this show skeptical. never been more glad to be proven wrong

i still miss funny Archie and gang. but this Riverdale is good anyway.

still not a fan of Grunchie. their affair is likely baked into the plot so theres no avoiding it, still gross though. i had to laugh when Fred Andrews was talking about her "They dont make (music teachers) like that in my day" (paraphrase). Yeah you and me both Fred #OldMsGrundy

I think much of the problem is Josie's dialogue. They've got her cattiness turned up to 11 with every line. They tried to explain it with her little 'scratch and claw' speech to Archie, but the character is caricature at this point.

They really need to give Josie some more colors for the actress to play with. And Kevin Keller, too. Both are lame stereotypes at this point.
