HOLDING ON - When Jughead (Cole Sprouse) learns that an anonymous buyer has plans to tear down the local drive-in, he fights desperately to keep it open. Betty (Lili Reinhart) finds her friendship with Archie on the line after stumbling upon some startling information she's uncovered about Miss Grundy's (guest star Sarah Habel) past. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) confronts her mother Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) about a suspicious meeting she witnessed between her mother and a shady Southside Serpent. Finally, after uncovering Betty's diary, Alice (Madchen Amick) finds the perfect opportunity to destroy Archie's golden boy image. Madelaine Petsch and Luke Perry also star. Mark Piznarski directed the episode written by Michael Grassi (#104). Original airdate 2/16/2017.

Kind of surprised they would give away the whole "real Miss Grundy" thing in the promo last week, but maybe the question of who this Grundy is will be the bigger reveal.

Nice to see the real Geraldine Grundy looked like the one in the comic books, for the people that had freaking out about how Miss Grundy wasn't like in the comic books

The only one I can think of off the top of my head was the 1970's Wonder Woman. Even Steve Trevor was just her boss.

Was the theory about Betty [blackout] having multiple personalities (with Polly being one of them) and everyone's just playing along with it[/blackout] discussed already? I'm liking it that theory... ETA: Oh looks like someone mentioned it at last week's thread!

Maybe they will make Jughead and Veronica half brother and sister if Jughead's dad knocked up Veronica's mom. Their parents didn't seem like old flames last night but maybe there is some bitterness between them like one of them possibly ditched the other in the past that will be explored later, hell maybe Veronica's mother was a major **** in the past so Veronica could be Archie's sister if Veronica's mother banged Archie's dad in the past.

great ep! im glad Sherif Keller is accepting of his son and still cares for him, i was a bit leery of the trope that Sherif dad-gay son would happen here.

and is Ms Grundy aka Jennifer Gibson really gone? with old Ms Grundy confirmed dead would we ever have a real Ms Grundy in this show? i mean we have everybody, Mr Weatherbee, Coach Clayton.... i think the only thing missing is the janitor Mr Svenson.

But Polly is portrayed by Tiera Skovbye and will first appear in episode 6, so I doubt that theory will materialize.

I do believe that's intentional. Grundy had the sunglasses like Lolita while she's Humbert preying on Lolita Archie.

Featured the death of Miss Grundy.

Probably why they chose 7 years ago. Sucks that we probably won't get to see a proper version of her.

I get the impression that Riverdale High has come full circle in the past 25 years, and that the kids and their relationships are pretty much exact copies of their parents.

I loved this episode!! I love this series!! Veronica, Jugghead and Kevin are easily my favorite characters! It's too bad Kevin didn't stay with Moose :/ Also I want to see more crazy Betty please!

I am really kinda hooked on this show surprisingly and the reveal about Jughead had my mouth drop. The parents are really screwed up except Archie's dad and Kevin's who are kinda awesome for different reasons.
