I remember as a kid, RAID used to have those black things you would stick on surfaces, roaches would crawl in, pick up poison, bring back to their nest, and they would all die.

But lately I can't find ANY of those anywhere. The only thing remotely close is for ants.

Summer is approaching and without a doubt I will see some huge 3+" mother****ers around my apartment.

Anyone got any tips?

Online stores that sell anti-roach stuff?

Hit up your local, well, any general store, and ask for a roach motel. That should do it.

Either that or call Quahog Pest Control, their methods are extreme but they get the job done.

What the f**k! You want to kill them, not give them a place to live!! Burn your apartment down! Best way to the take em' down!

I hate to state the obvious, but take extra care to keep your food in airtight containers that they can't get into and that will help limit the amount of roaches you'll get. It won't eliminate the problem, but it will help.

Fill up any cracks and holes and you'll never see a single roach again. If you have really old appliances and cabinets where they've nested in the past then get rid of them. That's it. Nothing else works.

I'd really recommend dropping the cash to get Terminex out to your place at least once. It's incredibly worth it. Living back in VA, I had a neighbor who had given us some stuff, and we didn't get to it for a few days, only to find out when we opened the box, he had roaches, so, naturally, we got them too. We ended up getting Terminex out there, and had ZERO problem with keeping them in check.

They're getting into your stash of bodybuilding supplements and turning into super roaches!

(But Drak is right...call Terminix or Orkin and get some professional attention on the problem)

Why spend the extra cash on a temporary solution when they're coming from a small confined space. It should be pretty obvious where in the bathroom they're coming from. There aren't many places.

We have a case of bed bugs...not nearly as easy to deal with as roaches.

Just because they are most noticeably getting in through one place doesn't necessarily mean that's where the main nest is located. Plug up that location and you're guaranteed they'll find another way in. They'll always find a way in. Your suggestion of trying to plug every crack and whole in your place doesn't really ever get rid of the roaches. They'll keep finding ways in. It's what they do. It's definitely possible to wipe them out and make your home a deathtrap for them with the help of a professional, though.

That is only if there is a VERY bad infestation behind the walls of the building. I had it pretty bad in my kitchen at one point and I trashed the my broken down 1960s kitchen cabinets and stove and withing 2 weeks the roaches virtually all disappeared and never came back and I had huge holes in the my walls during that entire time and months afterward. This actually created a different problem. I ended having a rodent infestation as a result. I caught and killed about 2 dozen mice in about a month I think. lol!

Hmmmm....mice or cockroaches. Tough choice. Haha! :D
