i'm not surprised in the least bit. Rob Liefeld can't even grasp a decent handle on the art of human anatomy, of course he's not going to understand the art of filmmaking. he's a has been...someone who came up with an original style in the early 90's that got old quick. his opinion means nothing to me.

Does anyone really care what this posers opinion is compared to... well... anyone else opinion? I think I give the cleaning crew at my job more credit to their opinion about Superman than this guy (who's motto should be "Human Anatomy is a drawback to an artists style").

To be fair, he's making these comments on his own site, he's not running around saying it on every comics and movie board on the net insisting people listen to him or anything

Isn't J.J. Abrhams script the one that was the "DEATH of SUPERMAN"?

With Brainiac as the villain who rips off Jor-El's chest piece before he's blasted into space off of Krypton. Then, on eath, 30 years later he lands, and has only the "S" Sheild chest piece. He meets Luthor, and all he can think of is the "S", and has to kill Jor-El, then, Luthor shows him a picture of Superman, and Brainiac sees the "S" and finds out who he is, and wants revenge on Kal-El, "the last son of Krypton"?

All the while, in the first 20 some minutes a monster, Doomsday, lands on earth and kills Superman?

That sounds like some intriuging character development there.

Liefeld is an idiot. His artwork aside, let's examine his abilities as a writer. Youngblood was one of the most poorly written comics I've ever read. Half the time there wasn't even a story, it was just a bunch of action shots or freeze frames of people screaming before they went into a battle that occurred off-page. He shows his lack of respect and knowledge of the character of Superman here by calling that awful, Star Wars rip-off Superman script by J.J. Abrams "the single best, most amazing Superman story ever written." Yeah. I mean, it would be one thing if he said that it was the greatest Superman MOVIE script ever written, but by that statement, he's saying that Abrams script is also better than all of the comic books.

GOOD LORD!!!! I never realized how BLATANTLY he copied other people's art! You know, you'd think for someone who is obviously just tracing another picture and passing it off as his own work, Rob Liefeld would at least create images of people who are anatomically correct, but he can't even pull THAT off. So I guess if you want to draw a Rob Liefeld character, here's what you should do: 1. Trace a John Byrne or Jim Lee drawing and 2. Reposition the figure's kneecaps all the way down at his feet and make his pectorals protrude so far it appears as if he has breasts.

Leifield isn't good at creating 'depth of field', and it causes the characters limbs to look 'fat' or 'deformed', like when a character is aiming a gun at you. It looks weird... There's no artistic merrit...it's just bad art.

Yeah I'm sorry Matt this isnt an attack on you or your opinion but damn his work is far from being ok. The anatomy of Cap in that picture is beyond unatural. I've never had a problem with someone being outspoken or just boastful like him as long as they have the talent to back it up. Only problem is....He has never had the talent to back it up.
