    Weren't we told that Caitlin's fiancé is dead anyway, so this casting should likely be for flashbacks.

    So Which will mean no Ronnie, no Ronnie as firestorm in the future? Unless he somehow faked his death or turns up alive somehow. Or they could have Jason Rusch as the firestorm later.

    The description that I saw merely said that she "lost" her fiancé. So wording it that way could be their out. For example, maybe he's still alive, but she just doesn't know it.

    She said the explosion killed him in the pilot. But yes, that doesn't mean he isn't still alive.

    I can see him going Dr. Manhattan and just not being able to out himself together until whenever he appears. Maybe he appears to Caitlin as a "ghost" until he fully materializes.
