Horror Robert Eggers Nosferatu

My kingdom for Robert Eggers finally making The Knight.

I have no idea what the heck the story of that film is, but man, I've been curious about this particular project ever since it was announced as a possible project on Eggers' roster all the way back in early 2016 after The Witch first hit theaters. Especially after all the growth Eggers has made with The Northman and Nosferatu in working on larger budgeted productions, I think this is as good a time as ever for Eggers to make an old fashioned (dark) fantasy epic.

If The Knight has a dragon in it I might actually die after seeing it.

David Lowery's The Green Knight
Robert Eggers' The Redcrosse Knight

It's just called "The Knight"? Not exactly an inspiring title.

I mean, the script and title date back almost a decade ago right after he made The Witch and before he made The Lighthouse. So whatever the case, it's keeping in line with Eggers' general title sensibilities.

If The Knight has a dragon in it I might actually die after seeing it.

I'm not sure which I'd want to see more; Eggers handling a wholly original medieval story about a knight and a dragon or possibly see Eggers take a stab at Arthurian myth to round out a trio of great King Arthur movies alongside John Boorman's Excalibur and David Lowery's The Green Knight.

Already this is gonna be my go to double feature with The Green Knight.

Of course, that all depends on if the film even gets made. Eggers wasn't confirming that it's his next film yet, just that he's had the script done along with some other unannounced scripts and we'll have to all wait and see which project of his gets greenlit next after Nosferatu.

But assuming it all works out for the best? Yeah, I have a feeling that The Knight would pair up quite nicely with The Green Knight indeed.

You guys might want to steer clear of Twitter for a bit, Orlok's face was leaked and I unfortunately caught a glimpse of it. He looks cool though, for what it's worth.

On that i must say that i way too often seem to have immense luck...i literally searched for it and couldnt find it.
Its like Spoilers avoid me on a regular base.XD

But would suck for those who waited for long, to have his face leaked just hours before they are able to watch the movie.

The promise of a medieval story from Eggers sounds great and will hopefully dampen the jealousy I'm about to feel when lots of people are going to see Nosferatu and I have to wait until January 3rd. Medieval times have always been a great fascination for me so I'm very excited that there is where he's going next. It's been quite a while since I saw a really good medieval movie, although I am reminded of that I never got around to seeing The Last Duel.

As for Nosferatu, there been a lot of nice cast interviews for Nosferatu lately and everyone have been great, but what's stood out especially much is what a delight Willem Dafoe is.

Pet rats are shockingly intelligent. Just have to be prepared that they love to gnaw on anything.

I want Dafoe to be for Eggers what Michael Caine was for Christopher Nolan.

I know the first choice that came to mind is Pattinson, but let me just add:

Absolutely fascinating to come back to now that we know he's playing Dracula himself for Luc Besson.

This film was a masterpiece in every sense of the word. And that's a word I don't use often. Eggers best film, and my favorite film of 2024. Holy ****, this thing rocks.

As a big fan of Eggers, it's just so satisfying to see how much he's evolved as a filmmaker since The VVitch. Nosferatu is his Magnum Opus.
