Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Easily the best candidate we could have gotten. I am stunned that this is actually happening! HELL YES.

And here we see Apollo granting me with the gift of prophecy! :funny:

Man, can't believe that was almost three years ago now and I can't stress enough how hyped I am that we're finally almost at the finish line!

Also, as an aside, I want to give a special shoutout to this awesome post from Boom back when Rob was first cast!

Pattinson's advantage is his versatility. None of the other candidates have displayed the sort of range Pattinson puts on show in his recent films. They don't compare.

Just what you need for a multi-faceted character like Bruce Wayne.

And he'd get to ride off of a Christopher Nolan film. Slam dunk.

I think it's safe to say this was right on the money.

It's fun to go through the first ten pages of this thread. Member berries.
Yep, despite some hilarious anti-Twilight posts, the vast majority here were surprisingly positive... Well, except for that one guy who thought Under Siege 2 was Matt Reeves' only good movie. :funny:

And then there was you... Who was just willing this casting into existence with every fiber of your being when there started being doubt about the reports. We all thank you for your metaphysical powers! :hehe:

Great bit of trivia here about the voice.

So a Keaton-like whisper really was on the table at first. This "Nick" person even noted it was Bale's original conception (as heard in this trailer).

I'm loving what Rob ultimately came up with, but I'd still like to hear his original take on it. If it was anything like Bale's voice in the aforementioned trailer, I think it would have been just as effective.

Because the character is not the version audiences are accustomed to, another pivotal scene involving Bruce Wayne as Bruce Wayne presented a different challenge for Durran: a men’s suit. “It took quite a bit of working out, but like the other costumes, it was all about pulling back and honing down,” Durran relays. “We went minimalist Japanese for Bruce’s shirt, and we went Saville Row with his suit and coat. It’s luxurious but very low key.
