On the movie website, http://www.transformersmovie.com/main.html, the screenwriters take time to answer questions asked by fans. Lots of great info here and some to note are...

"Are you Transformer fans?"

"Why is Bumblebee a Camaro?"

I find it good that even though they've changed the designs of the characters that the screenwriters still say that the characters will maintain their original personalities. I don't know how much this will ring true...but they say that at least Bumblebee will.

Megatron WILL insult Starscream. They said the dynamics between those two will remain intact.

The Transformers will fire bullets and missiles in alt-modes and "pulse blasts" in robot form.

Bonecrusher hates other Decepticons aside from Megatron whom he respects. Barricade is the hunter for the Decepticons.

They've also noted that they are Transformer fans from when they were kids watching the G1 cartoon...this is good.

yeah, i saw those videos a while back...

...which is why i'm not TOO worried about their personalities staying in tact. i still have my doubts though...
