Well this latest news sucks! 


i thought that this was the movie for Padilha to make money to get more freedom on personal projects.That's what happens when you're more of an avant garde idealistic director, you don't have enough pull to get your say. You have to have made a studio some cheddar beforehand to get in.
...Sometimes executives make better decisions than directors...sometimes.
I still will never get how the Matrix trilogy got that R rating. There are a couple violent instances in the series where I could see it being light R, but they weren't really all that bad for kids.
It's not because of the aliens its because you constantly see your human allies getting gunned downed with a ton of blood to boot.Most FPS get that rating because you're more or less mowing down multiple living creatures with a gun. Green blood or not, it's not that kid friendly I guess.

I really find it hard to believe that a studio would hire a director based on his vision for a reboot and then poo poo 9/10 of his ideas.
