Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

You're not a fan? :cmad: :D

Mass Effect would be an amazing template for an X-Men game, certainly much better than Avengers and whatever this is turning out to be. You'd be able to control chosen characters using the squad whenever out on missions too. I'd take X-Men, Avengers and JL all with a similar style and not live service.
The template is already out there. There are plenty of comiX, movies, shows and games for inspiration. Its just up to a studio/developer/publisher how they are going to eXecute it.

Seeing some of the MK1 monetizations, I'm just going go ahead and say that this game is royally ****ed.

Like with Gotham Knights, I will wait until its half its price.

i wonder if its going to keep its Feb 2024 release date?

It was that before, but yeah if WB keeps this stuff up...the game will not survive 3 months.
Insane how they butcher Mortal Kombat out of sheer, pathetic greed when they could make more money if the game wouldnt have been hurt by the monetization.

Or if it shows up in gamepass/ps+
I dont see them move it again.
They cant be this blind in their want to sell a GAAS Suicide Squad game.
At one point they have to realize that this is it, that it doesnt get better.
They played their card and it was a bad...they would only drag this out.

Release the game and move on i say.

They are well past the point of no return. At this point, this last delay was one in order to figure out their marketing plan to salvage it.

Sefton Hill and Jaime Walker absolutely made the right choice to jump ship. WB is going to run Rocksteady into the ground:

RIP WB Games. I mean, if what we've seen from the MK 1 cosmetic prices, this game is going to have insane costs.

We lost so hard when Zaslav took over.
Have we not suffered enough yet? Why must we be punished further?

And boy am i worried for the Wonder Woman game.
Suicide Squad is dead and i already made my peace that Rocksteady will die after the Release of the game.
But there is still Wonder Woman in the works and i worry for this game.

Warner being 10 to 15 years behind everyone is embarrassingly hilarious at this point.

There's still the Wonder Woman game but its also been long 8 years since Arkham Knight. I don't think things are going to change for the better. So I think Dc games is a lost cause. I'd play Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad once they are really cheap.

Well there is a WW job listing on Monolith's website hinting at live service elements for that game as well. I can't say I'm too optimistic about that one just yet.

I am not an expert on the gaming industry, but it seems to me (and I could be wrong) that going all in on live service and doubling down after The Avengers game failed (and is now delisted) and BioWare no longer makes new content for Anthem, is just a stupid business decision. A live service game is not a cash grab, because it requires a lot of investment from the studio (keeping the servers running, providing new content, etc), because its success requires that its player base invests a lot of time into playing it, and you are competing with every other live service game out there for that player investment and attention. Its not easy money as these stockholders and executives want to believe it is.

Who is asking for live gaming? It seems to flop over and over again? Yet always they keep investing in it

Yup, hype dropped a lot with this and worry raised.
Of course we get a WW game in a time where the head of WB is a complete fool that forces it into being live service.
Again, what have we done so bad to deserve the people in charge?

Live Service has a around 80% rate to fail.
I dont think we ever saw the industry tackle this kind of game this often and failing at it this often.
Its normal to copy what worked for other games, that is often the case.
But never to such a failure rater as with Live Service games.
The huge problem with Live service is that you gotta prepare the content...lacking that is what pretty much killed Avengers.
That and its content being rather boring.

Hell, even Destiny 2 struggles and its considered one of the best live service games by 2023.
Its a dying branch that greedy studios havent noticed, is rotting away under their feet.

Yeah the game companies are constantly pushing it but I’ve never heard of anyone who is like “I want this”

Another genius level move from Zaslav :cmad:
Zaslav sees a patient suffering. Shall we get them some treatment/medication? Hmm, is there a way to give them more of the illness, inject them with more of the disease? That might help.

Seeing some of the MK1 monetizations, I'm just going go ahead and say that this game is royally ****ed.

From what I've seen & read about MK1's microtransactions, if this is anything vaguely similar, it will be a complete **** show.

It's so sad, you've seen what the Arkham games all did, you've seen what the Spider-Man & likely Wolverine game(s) will do, yet they continue to try to push this sort of nonsense.

Yeah, the MK 1 problems have only gotten worse.

I love Mortal Kombat, even when it was mechanically dog **** in the 3d era, I still purchased all of those games, but the current state of that franchise is do aggressively monetized, I've started waiting until complete editions. WB has effectively killed any enthusiasm I had for that series and then there's this cluster****, and the inevitably over monetized and probably awful Wonder Woman game coming. It's hard to look forward to any of it.

EDIT: Removed the video, because of some uncensored language. But the video on story and gameplay is out.

Let the attempt to gaslight us begin.

EDIT: Oh nooooo, they are pushing the large open world....

I was watching the Video and for the first time in many years i was actually close to tears.
Like, i was so frustrated watching this...so dissapointingly frustrated and sad.

It just hit me that this awful thing could be the final game of the company that gave me some of the Best Batman stuff ever.
The Company that created the Batman games i always wanted.
Let me be batman like nothing ever did.

It hit me that this is the last time we will hear Kevin Conroy as Batman, the probably last time we see Arkham Batman.

And its a f**king generic loot shooter with the Suicide Squad.
I dont even know what to say...its just looks bad.
Boring, uninspiring and generic.

Things i never thought i would say about a Rocksteady game.
I can truly say i despise WB right now.
Every decision in the last few years outside of making Gunn and Safran head of the DC studio...i despise.

I am going to not play this game on general principle. WB told their investors they want to make less single player games and more games like this, which is stupid because all that does is make people who want to play single player games resent your product and want it to fail. I hope this game flops, because its clear that Rocksteady didn't even really want to make this game in the first place and there is no passion behind it (just greed).

Bold of them to have a closed stress test.
