Sure, but it would still have made the whole premise pointless and that is something people also dont like.No one wants to genuinely Kill the Justice League. That's the problem. Even in Mortal Kombat vs. DC, they took out the MA fatalities. In Injustice, they set up an AU universe, so it's not ACTUALLY Superman who goes nuts and crazy. And the prime universe heroes go to stop Superman's regime.
I doubt people would've been that upset when they realized they didn't genuinely kill the Justice League and they were clones or evil doubles.
There was really no way to win on that.
People would have complained either way, because then it would have been "Why do they sell it as if we can kill the justice league when we cant"?
Its one of those "damned if you do and damned if you dont" situations.
But you could have made it work better if the storytelling wouldnt have been so clunky and the game wouldnt have been a loot shooter live service game.
