Rocky 6

Good point but the Rocky movies have always been a guilty pleasure for me.

Just like ferrets. :O
It's natural to enjoy ferrets so you shouldn't feel guilty, unless...you're enjoying them, carnally. :(

LMFAO!

EVERYONE'S INSANE!!! Hahahaha

It has NOTHING to do with his looks or his background!
It's that a good idea gets diluted the more you try to churn out reiterations of it.

Laughable and clueless at the same time. Why would the material get diluted? If it's done in a quality manner, why not?

This is a very commonly held belief, by many intelligent and cuh-LASSAY people, that it gets kind of laughable when you get up to Nightmare on Elm Street XXI or Die Hard 12

Well, a good film is a good film. I don't care if it's the 1st or the 100th.

Like Die Hard, that's a good example, First movie DYNAMITE, then, worse, and worse and sorry, Die Hard 6 would suck.
Since you're such an admirer of how HUNKY and hard-working Sly is, wouldn't it be a lot cooler of him to try something new, like he did with Cop Land, than just to lazily try to reclaim past glories?

I said nothing about Stallone's looks. Looks like you might have your own man-crush jealous streak going on here. Again, If it's a quality film, what's the difference between a first film and a sixth? I also don't see it as reclaiming past glories, it's more like defying the odds and finishing the story on this character that wasn't sent-off the right way in the last film.........

JOKE.

P.S. If you want to see people that actually lack intellect, check out the "Pong: The Movie" thread and see how many people believed it.

Didn't bother.................

I thought the last film was supposed to be the farewell.

BOTH. They always suck and rule at the same time. I think that's just the strange magic the Rocky movies have. I can't vote on this.

Brilliant, I wish I'd said that. Actually I think I'll start saying that.

For people to say Rocky 6 will suck, they sure do spend a lot of time in this thread. How about not entering the thread and moving along?

Because the name of the thread is "Will Rocky VI Suck or Rule?" Not "Rocky VI Will Rule" Big difference. It aksed for our opinions and were voicing them. Deal with it. I dont post in the other Rocky thread.

That I understand. But if you hate it that much, then why repeat yourself? Speaking your opinion once or twice is enough.

But too each its own. I have faith in this movie and I definitely respect Stallone as a writer, director, and actor. Unlike a lot of supposed "actors" who claimed they worked hard, yet they used connections and slept their way to the top.

To me it sounds like quite a bit of people are jealous and want to see it fail.

Jealous of what? ive never gotten that jealousy argument. And to counter if you like the movie so much why say it so much, Speaking your opinion once or twice is enough.

It was. I guess like George Lucas, he wasn't satisfied with sending the character off that way............

Ferrets? Is that like some fetish or something?

Uh...I'm sorry I meant Ferris...Ferris Wheels! Yes that's it, Ferris Wheels.

LOL!

Why is Sly holding a dog? Does the dog have the ghost of Apollo in him? Does the dog chase Rocky up the stairs?

Hmm the plot thickens....

I'm not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, by no stretch of the imagination, but are you telling me he's actually going to run up the stairs with that dog?!?!?!?

Are you kidding me?!?!?! If that's the case, I will walk out of the theatre....

I can handle Rocky climbing 15,000 ft. mountains, running in 6 feet deep snow banks, chopping wood and carrying rocks as training methods for his fight against Drago, but running up the stairs with your ugly pet dog, WTF Sly?!?!?!

Well, you do remember him running with his other dog, BUTKUS, in the original film, correct? It's not out of the ordinary for him to have another dog, which is named PUNCHY in this film. I wouldn't be too concerned.........

Sylvester Stallone is going to recreate one of the most famous scenes in cinematic history, only this time with an ugly pet dog named Punchy?!?! I guess I'm the only one who finds that utterly ridiculous.

I didn't mind Butkus because there is a sincerity involved in the original Rocky. Rocky is supposed to be the antithesis of Apollo Creed. Where Creed wears high tailored suits and trains in a state of the art gym, Rocky punches meat in dirty clothes. They are supposed to contradict each other, in their fighting style, their training regiment and in their demeanor towards life. Hence the reason he takes his dog Butkus on a walk while training. He doesn't know any better.

I don't really mind Punchy. I don't mind that the dog is in the movie. I didn't really mind Rocky VI if Stallone, as he indicated, was going to give us a touching story about life, but how do you take a movie seriously when a professional boxer trains for a professional boxing match with his pet dog Punchy at his side? In what should be the most inspiring, emotional scene of the movie, Rocky's final climb up the Philidelphia Art Museum steps, he's holding a leash for his pet dog Punchy. I'm sorry I just look at that as really corny.

I guess we are going to disagree on this subject, but I was most looking forward to this scene, in which Rocky proves us all wrong and runs up those stairs with everything he has, highlighting the fact that you can accomplish anything at any age if you set your mind to it. I'm not looking forward to Stallone running along side his dog and giving him a hug at the end

"Yo Punchy! We Did It!!!!"

Heck, the scene will probably own and make me eat my words. But this was the kind of stuff I was hoping Stallone would NOT do.

Nah, you're not the only one. I don't think it's utterly ridiculous just overly corny. Other scenes with Punchy don't seem to be a big deal to me. But Rocky climbing those steps should be done alone.

whats the release date for this movie?

Sometime next year. The new Rambo is coming out this year from what I read, seeing as no new news has been reported on it, personally I'd love for Rocky 6 be released this year and Rambo to be released next year.

But yeah, Rocky 6 is coming out in 2007.

I agree Furious - I'd rather see Rocky run up those stairs alone as well, and he might do that also, since we've seen pics of him on the top of the stairs without Punchy...........

I'm sure it will be an emotional scene anyway, especially since Adrian is gone, so we'll have to see how it's placed within the context of the film. Adrian won't be there to give her usual emotional, uplifting speech to Rocky. As a scene by itself, it does seem ridiculous, but it could work in the film.
