Rocky 6

^Simply phenomenal ending Bad Supes. Good stuff.

The ending is the biggest hurdle in my opinion. It's going to be tough to please everyone. That synopsis is fantastic by the way..........

Thanx!!! ;)

I heard Sly will film three different endings
(one on the steps next to the statue similar to Rocky V, the other is back again on Adrian's grave site and the third one in the ring right after the result of the fight is announced)
. I have no doubt we'll see all of them on the DVD. The question is, which one will he use for the theatrical version?

*applauds* Beautiful. Simply beautiful man.

I think if that ending was used it'd really be a tear-jerker. Either Gonna Fly Now(piano theme) or maybe The Final Bell be played as they walk towards the sunlight.

Either way yours is very brilliant.

Thanx!!! ;)

The theme I referred to appears in the Rocky Story soundtrack, it's the Gonna Fly Now (Instrumental) - The Rocky Orchestra version. I would extend a bit the piano solo intro in order to cover the lines between Adrian and Rocky and then the rest of the song plays through.

I think the sinopsis looks very promessing, but the problem is, this sequel comes 15 years too late. I loved the original Rocky, and liked the third one, but IV and V turned the franchise into a joke.

I'd like to see a breaking the 4th wall end title sequence, similar to the one used in Lethal Weapon 4 which empolyed set pics, behind the scenes and candid photographs of the cast spanning all 4 films, showing what a great time they had making them all. I think this would be a fitting way to end the franchise, and provide a little bit of a lift if the ending is a downer.

And Rocky V is better IV.

I'm kinda torn on the situation.

On the one hand, Stallone could definitely use a box-office hit for a change.

On the other hand, it has been a LONG time, and the fact that he's even doing it sounds like a desperate move.

I'm not going to pass judgement at this point.

I reckon this film will RULE, but just tell me one thing Milkman and co
(Im not reading any spoilers) but please tell me Rocky does not die because that would suck s-hit.

If he dies the film will suck period, if not it could be great.

Whats weird though is why did they just release a new box set w/ the previous 5 films when the conclusion to the series is out next year?
We better get a new updated box set come 07.

No. He doesn't die. ;)

I will wait out 'til 2007.

BOTH. They always suck and rule at the same time. I think that's just the strange magic the Rocky movies have. I can't vote on this.

Its going to be a another pointless and useless sequel. Stallone's like what? 55 pushing 60 now?

Come on. . . The Crippler would disagree. ;)

Stallone was great for his day, but his day has long passed. I don't think people really want to see him doing this kind of film. It's just like Arnold. One reason Arnold's movies do relatively poorly now is because he really doesn't have a body anymore. That was always his gimmick and now his body looks like crap. Stallone has more overall talent in entertainment than Arnold, but it's just a franchise that has outlived it's usefulness. It's really sad.

And that's what the film is about. Skill VS. Will

From Total Rocky.com:

The script for "Rocky Balboa" has the over-the-hill Balboa taking on the reigning heavyweight boxing champ Mason "The Line" Dixon. Both men are trying to restore their dignity: Dixon because he's reviled by fight fans for taking on unproven opponents; Rocky because its been years since the aging boxer from South Philly has climbed into a ring.

As far as body condition goes, I wish I could have Sly's body when I turn 60.

^Exactly. Sly should be an inspiration for everyone today. He's in phenomenal shape for being 59. Like Bad Supes said, no, he doesn't die. It seems nobody has any respect for filmakers anymore - especially the one's trying to make a comeback with an outstanding character like Rocky.

This film will be the most emotional Rocky film, and I for one think it's going to be great seeing this character on the big screen again. I think it needs to be done since most people thought Rocky V wasn't good enough to end the series and the character on...........

Bad Supes:

I heard the ending will be at the top of the steps with him looking at different people visiting the steps and jumping up and down with their fists in the air like Rocky used to do - and the people doing it range from senior citizens to younger kids..........sound about right?

Totally agree with you. About the spoiler, yes, that's one version.
Apparently Sly will have different outfits on site to shoot different versions of the scene. So I guess that is just one of the possible scenarios.

I see this film going three ways...*Mini Rant*

1.) Everybody dislikes it. Rocky fans and casual movie-going fans find it dull and redundant. It follows in the footsteps of Million Dollar Baby so to speak and fans can't handle one of their beloved movie heroes being given quasi-realistic and possibly disheartening farewell *gasp even maybe death*

2.) Rocky fans enjoy it! The nice touching scenes between Rocky and Marie who had a 30 second cameo in the first film are soo touching AWWWW. Browny points because they mention Adrian...

3.) Sly pulls a Rocky IV and gives us a cheesy, over the top yet lovable farewell to one of the best movie characters ever. It has heart, yet it still pokes fun at itself and allows the suspension of disbelief to run high. Fans flock to see Rocky training one final time to Bill Conti's score...

The same complaint I have with Casino Royale, I have with Rocky VI. I suppose it's extreme bitterness over the many arguments at Rocky boards and Bond boards, but when the hell did fans all of a sudden become realists?

It seems as if fans have now reached a moral conciousness of some sort. I don't even know how to explain it. Anybody who would like a happy ending and a fun two hour movie are idiots and morons and are no longer true fans of the respected series'.

It just seems very strange to me. Bond has to be realistic all of a sudden, Rocky VI has to be down to earth. Why? When? Watched the previous installments of the respected franchises? Weren't exactly realistic to me, and they weren't bad movies either.

*Shrugs shoulders and gives up..Watches Moonraker and Rocky V simaltaneously*

LOL, are you kidding? That's one of the cheesiest lamest things I 've ever heard of. Hahahahaha. Come on Grandma! Come on, little Timmy! Feel the power!"

That is just ONE of a few versions. It's a way of symbolizing how he has inspired people of all ages.

lol, all the senior citizens and children should then be shown punching frozen sides of beef in slow motion and gulping raw eggs.
inSPIRING!

I got a better one.
The should punch themselves up opening up huge gashes with blood and causing deep swelling until you could actually see the bone from the skull sticking out and bits and pieces of brain coming out. Rocky pushes the statue over them and squashes them while the body parts fly because of the tremendous weight in Tarantino-like way, while a pack of dogs begin to eat the corpses. Rocky raises his fists triumphantly to the sky that begins to turn dark because of a full solar eclipse.

All this while Mozart's Requiem plays in the background. . . .

I hope you enjoyed the mental images.

I see you still have a very low IQ Wilhelm. Nice.

It could be inspirational if done the right way - that ending would be during the credits - not within the film so-to-speak. More like fans of the film series running up the steps. Heck, I've done it before...............

So Rocky fans-

What do we think about RockyVI coming 15 years after what people thought was the last in the series? Stallone was 45 in the last film now he is gonna be 59 playing a 55 year old.

Do you think this is too old for one last Rocky film, or will it rule like all the others have done?

Ok, I think it will rank in this order

Rocky
Rocky III
Rocky VI
Rocky IV
Rocky V

I think it will be a good book end for the series. I have to admit that the Rocky movies have been a guilty pleasure. I just was really hoping that someone like Taratino would had directed though. It would have kick ass.

Lol, it's so odd. In all of my travels, in all of my relations with my fellow citizens of Earth, I have never come across anyone who felt that a disdain for the idea of a 6th Rocky movie bespeaks a lack of class or intellect. In fact, my feeling has been that it would be an attitude one could describe as "elitest". I guess I'm just suffering from cinematic myopia and am therefore unequipped to discern the complexities of the subtext and the true significance of this pop-cultural icon who smashes dudes in the face and skips rope.
Thanks for "broadening my horizons".

Rocky VI. It will be a damn good movie. Im in need of some good drama in films. I love the Rocky movies. V was alright(i really enjoy the street fight at the end). But they're all damn good movies, and shows the life of the character. It never really had a "finish" in Rocky IV. Im hoping Rocky VI delivers. It sounds outstanding.

Whether or not he dies, the movie will still be very emotional. If he died, it would be the ultimate tear jerker lol, but if he lives, awsome. I just dont want Rocky VII.
