Rocky 6

I watched the Rocky movies since I was a kid so I hope this movie rules and shows how an aging movie star can still make a comeback.

Who knows we might still get a Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot 2.

Yeah Whilhem does have a low IQ it seems.
If people aren’t fans of the franchise then don’t post in this thread.
Oh yeah and-Tarentino directing would suck ass.
Stallone is the guy to do it, the Rocky Films are amazing and as long as we don't get Rocky dieing at the end it will rule.
I was initially dubious about this film but after reading the synopsis posted in this thread I’m really pumped about it.
So he's old so what it don't seem that stupid that he could come back for one last fight against an average champ- Dixon 'The Line', . I don't think this guy is exactly Apollo Creed.
If he were were then yeah, it would be kinda unrealistic.

Here’s how I rank the films Top being the best

ROCKY
ROCKYIV
ROCKYIII
ROCKYII
ROCKYV

I expect RockyVI to be better than V, who knows it may even end up being one of the best.

Lol, it's so odd. In all of my travels, in all of my relations with my fellow citizens of Earth, I have never come across anyone who felt that a disdain for the idea of a 6th Rocky movie bespeaks a lack of class or intellect. In fact, my feeling has been that it would be an attitude one could describe as "elitest". I guess I'm just suffering from cinematic myopia and am therefore unequipped to discern the complexities of the subtext and the true significance of this pop-cultural icon who smashes dudes in the face and skips rope.
Thanks for "broadening my horizons".

Hilarious - of course I'm mostly joking, but at the same time, I don't have much patience for people that don't respect the fact that a 59 year old actor, writer, producer, and filmaker is taking another shot at bringing a pop culture icon and character back to the big screen, the source material shouldn't matter.

The story of what Stallone went through bringing the first picture to fruition is amazing just by itself.

My ranking by the way:

Rocky
Rocky III
Rocky II
Rocky IV
Rocky V

I like them all, but it seems I have a guilty pleasure for III because I like the friendship and bond that happened between Apollo and Rocky in the film. I also thought the training scenes between the two were excellent. Can't leave out Eye of the Tiger either............

^Nice.

Well, IMDB has Talia Shire listed as being in Rocky Balboa - we'll see about that. If it's true, then we'll have a flashback or two. NICE.

I want both. Let me explain how I would do it.

After his loss (by split decision), Rocky passes the torch to Dixon. Rocky retires as a professional boxer but becomes a manager. All of this would be done on a "forward in time" montage using small clips, newspaper clippings, etc. He could become a very succesful manager, even manage a couple of World Champions. The "forward in time" montage would end with Rocky as an old man. He sits at the side of his bed, he takes a photo of Adrian into his hands: "I miss you." He slowly caresses the face of the portrait and puts it back to the small table next to his bed. He lies down with his eyes open looking at the ceiling as if lost in thought. He closes his eyes. . . He sees Adrian in the distance on a green field smiling at him. We see a "younger" Rocky walk towards her, he embraces her and kisses her. After the kiss: "I missed you too." They hold hands and walk towards the horizon. . . . and fade to black while the Gonna Fly now theme (slow piano version) plays as the credits roll.
God, that is awful.

Awful as in sad or awful as in horrible? Personally I liked Bad Superman's ending and it adds a different emotional aspect to the character.

Pretty much it's like the Titanic ending. She lets go of the necklace and either passes away, sleeps, or dreams about being back on the Titanic with Jack at the end.

Only this is Rocky and I find it to be very good.

It is pure cheese. A Montage? Montages = I suck at telling stories so resort to cheap amature devices to do what I can not do.

I will love to see all of the ppl who say he's too old and his time is passed eating his words come 2007. He's doing this movie exactly to prove everybody who says this to himself and to other ppl who get old the same exact thing.

I've always wanted to see another Rocky and another Rambo. How come people weren't saying the same thing when Arnie did T3?

I didn't hear people saying he's too old then, why are people all of a sudden complaining about Stallone's age? If anything he looks great to be near 60.

Maybe cause Sly has proven himself to be one of the worst actors in hollywood over the past 20 years?

Ok, I think it will rank in this order

Rocky
Rocky III
Rocky VI
Rocky IV
Rocky V

I think it will be a good book end for the series. I have to admit that the Rocky movies have been a guilty pleasure. I just was really hoping that someone like Taratino would had directed though. It would have kick ass.
How is Rocky V worst than IV?

Its not really, but what dissappointed me about Rocky V was that he didn't fight in the ring.

After Rocky,Rocky V is the best,IMO.Rocky II and III were just made to milk absolutely anything they could out of the original. Then came the fourth installment...I don't even want to think about it.
But then,John G.Avildsen came to retake his throne, and Rocky was practically reborn.I can tell he didn't like what was becoming of the Rocky franchise...

Though they should have just sticked to the first. What was to be said was said.

I take it you've never seen Cop Land? He got rave reviews for that role and it proved he could and can act.

^Obviously Stallone is no Oscar caliber actor, even though he was nominated for the original Rocky, but he's not God awful either. I can name plenty of worse actors out there today that actually have great careers today..........

Another case of dis-respect............what's funny is I don't think anybody was saying these things about Arnold's acting and him doing T3...........

Great stuff milk:up: ,this is looking really promising
