Rocky 6

Gotta love him wearing the same grey sweats and running those steps..............

Yeah Whilhem does have a low IQ it seems.
If people aren’t fans of the franchise then don’t post in this thread.
Hey, Goofball?
This isn't a Rocky appreciation thread. The topic is "Will 6 suck or rule?". That means you can post here if you think it will "suck". *Please note that I haven't said a ****ing word in the thread that's just titled "Rocky 6". Yes, there are some I.Q. points lacking in here, but they aren't mine.

Furthermore, I liked Rocky and Rocky 2, my problem with it is that it gets pathetic when an aging has-been star has to keep dipping into the same well, kind of like, Police Academy 1, sure it was cute...Police Acadamey 6, pathetic.

If you're only allowed to have one opinion in this thread then the title should be changed, K?. K )

^Obviously Stallone is no Oscar caliber actor, even though he was nominated for the original Rocky, but he's not God awful either. I can name plenty of worse actors out there today that actually have great careers today..........

Another case of dis-respect............what's funny is I don't think anybody was saying these things about Arnold's acting and him doing T3...........

Why do we need to show him respect? For making a movie because he ran out of money due to excessive red headband purchasing? He hasnt done anything to garner any respect. Hes done movies I enjoy including Rocky I-IV, but why do you feel like its wrong to make fun of him and his sad attempt to cash in on the Rocky franchise once again?

I found it to be a bit of an emotional scene. I can't believe the franchise is officially over. They pushed up the last day of shooting to Saturday (It was supposed to be on Sunday, but they wanted to avoid the snow storm).

I agree - it's going to be an emotional spot within the film.

^Maybe because that's his dog?

Sad attempt? You actually think his sole purpose for making this film is money? He's got more than enough, he doesn't need to make another film, ever. It's called being the underdog once again, and with enough heart and determination, you can accomplish anything, despite what a calendar says. Grow up.

So, I guess writing, producing, directing, and starring in over 50 films doesn't garner respect these days. That is truly sad......

Stallone's writing career:

Writer - filmography

-Rambo IV (announced)
-Poe (2006) (pre-production)

It does garner respect. But not the type you are seeking. He doesnt need to be worshipped. He can write, star, direct any movie he wants but thats not going to stop me from making fun of the guy for being old and being in a boxing movie. Seriously, its not like hes cured cancer. Hes in a bunch of movies, theres plenty of people who have done what he has so it doesnt make him special. Start living in the real world and realize people think a Rocky 6 is a stupid idea, while you think its god's gift to cinema. Its called an opinion, learn to accept it.

Stallone is one of my favorite actors. He really seems like a humble guy and I really believe much of the criticism over the years is a result of envy.

This guy was one of the high paid actors in Hollywood in the 1980's. He has to have one of the largest box office totals for an Hollywood actor.

Its funny, the same arguments about him now were the same ones in the 70s. Each time they counted him out he as ALWAYS come back to seize success. I think he'll do it again.

This is one of the reasons I like him.

Hahaha, whoever wrote "Over the Top" can go to Hell.
Lol, that is some U.N.Watchable ****.:D
But it is noteworthy for being Billy Corgan's debut in film.

Yeah, a lot of people think it's a stupid idea, but those are the same people that told him he'd never make a dime in this business also. Those same people will be in line to see it as well. I'm a fan of his because of the type of person he is and the type of sacrifices he went through to even have the career he's had...........

He should thank God for Rocky and Rambo.

Also Cliffhanger and Copland were surprisingly good.

Honestly, I think God couldve came up with better movies than Rocky and Rambo.

Certainly, but Stallone was able to make and sustain a 30 year career with those two characters. An incredible feat. (But Lucas beats that will an entire financial empire based on 1 film.)

NO!
You don't get it!

C.L.A.S.S.I.C. films of the 70's:

The Exorcist
Jaws
Rocky
The Godfather

Those? ^...G.O.O.D.

The Exorcist 6
Jaws 6
Rocky 6
The Godfather 6 ?.......B.A.D.

Also, I don't freaking watch movies to bask in the glow of the brave, talented person who had to "sacrifice so much" to make the movie, it's to watch the movie.

Good point but the Rocky movies have always been a guilty pleasure for me.

Just like ferrets. :O

Ferrets? Is that like some fetish or something?

To each their own. If you'd rather watch actors that were born with a silver spoon and didn't work hard to make their millions or make a single sacrifice to get to where they are today, so be it. Keep watching Paris Hilton in House of Wax and her joke of a reality TV show then.

Sounds to me like you're still coming up short in terms of the IQ.........

Jealous that for a man in his 60's he possibly looks a lot better than you?

Stallone worked hard to get to where he's at, and if I'm not mistaken, he was born with severe nerve damage in his face and most would let that stop them. But it didn't stop him.

Personally I respect Stallone a lot more than say Schwarzenegger. We're not worshipping him or making people worship him, however, to say he doesn't deserve respect is very stupid and wrong in my opinion.

Stallone deserves all the respect in the world. I can think of a lot of movies he's done that aren't Rocky or Rambo.

Daylight, Oscar, Copland, Stop or My Mom Will Shoot(Love the chemisty between him and Getty), Lock-Up, and Over The Top were and are great movies.

LMFAO!

EVERYONE'S INSANE!!! Hahahaha

It has NOTHING to do with his looks or his background!
It's that a good idea gets diluted the more you try to churn out reiterations of it.

This is a very commonly held belief, by many intelligent and cuh-LASSAY people, that it gets kind of laughable when you get up to Nightmare on Elm Street XXI or Die Hard 12

Like Die Hard, that's a good example, First movie DYNAMITE, then, worse, and worse and sorry, Die Hard 6 would suck.
Since you're such an admirer of how HUNKY and hard-working Sly is, wouldn't it be a lot cooler of him to try something new, like he did with Cop Land, than just to lazily try to reclaim past glories?

God:rolleyes:

P.S. If you want to see people that actually lack intellect, check out the "Pong: The Movie" thread and see how many people believed it.
