BEHOLD.

I know it's been a lackluster year for movies with a few notable exceptions (Deadpool, Civil War, some Richard Linklater movie I haven't seen yet) but luckily, legendary filmmaker Roger Corman and future Oscar-winning actor Manu Bennett have teamed up for what will surely be this year's Best Picture winner. Feast your eyes on Death Race 2050, sequel to Corman's 1975 original film Death Race 2000, but NOT the critically acclaimed Jason Statham masterpiece, Death Race (2008).

Da hell?

Granted... I'll watch it eventually. Still... Da hell?

Roger Corman is kind of like the D-List George Miller, and this is his D-List Mad Max Fury Road, starring D-List Tom Hardy.

:funny: The world would be a better place of more actors and directors billed themselves as "future Oscar winner."

Real talk, the original is a blast. It knows what it is and runs with it.

Don't really see what a remake/sequel has to offer in the way of anything new but I confess I'd probably be entertained.

Can't wait to buy this at my local 7/11.

I bet Manu Bennett has a dartboard somewhere with Joe Mangianello's face on it.

The original Death Race was amazing.

The only issue I have with this sequel is, while still low budget, doesn't have any grim. I love digital cameras, but often, low budget movies (often featuring Steven Seagal and Danny Trujio) are shot with digital cameras as is. There's often too much clarity that loses some character.

Back in the day, even bad B-movies had cinematographers that worked on the look of the movies. Even pornos back in the 70's ;) that HAD to use film, and not video.
