Filmmaker Roland Emmerich is in early talks to direct a film adaptation of “Wayward Pines” author Blake Crouch’s bestselling novel “Dark Matter” for Sony Pictures.
The story follows a quantum physicist who gave up a big-time career due to his partner’s unexpected pregnancy. Now a college professor with a great family life, he’s taken to another world where his theories have become a fully realized technology for inter-dimensional transfer.
In the parallel world, he didn’t marry his girlfriend and they never had a son. He is determined to get back to his other life back, but nefarious powers in the alternate reality conspire to stop him. Matt Tolmach is producing the film.
