Who cares if it was a long time ago?! Should it be forgotten because of that? The worst is that he admits to doing it and acts suspiciously about it while still believing that he somehow shouldn't be punished for it. This man obviously thought that being rich and famous meant that he was above the law. Guess not, eh?

I don't get why France and Hollywood is willing to defend Polanski or have the charges dismissed. Just because he survived the Holocaust and went through the trauma of the Manson killings later on isn't that good of an excuse to let him off for drugging and raping a 13 year-old girl.

He should've just done the time in the 1970s, been released and moved on with his life. Fleeing the U.S. for the shelter of Europe for 30 years isn't going to be any more softer on him if they do manage to extradite Polanski to L.A..

extradition is a two way street....the government on the other hand has to agree to apprehend the individual

The sad part is, most attornies being interviewed about this case are saying it looks like even if he gets extradited his sentence will be declared, "time served." Time served, isn't that a joke? Living in a French estate, continuing to make millions of dollars and live an extravagant life style is going to be considered "time served."

I really feel bad for the guy on a personal level... going what he went through with his wife and child being killed... I mean, that's enough to screw up the strongest person..... but, what he did was criminal, and he deserves to go to prison....

the man most def. had some sick sense of sexual desire, along with fatherhood when he did that to that girl... doesn't make it any less diplorable... but, he was obviously screwed up....

and you really think having your wife bound and stabbed to death in your home, wouldn't screw up someone... not to mention, his unborn child, who was almost term, was stabbed multiple times...
