Might be a little late in the game for a suggestion so I just wonder whether we will see The Kree or The Accuser at all. I hope so, I love Ronan as a character, he is like the Judge Dredd of the Marvel Universe and he has had a big part to play in many cosmic events, even going on now to be part of The Annihilators.

I would at least expect a mention if not a cameo or small role which could grow into something much bigger in the future, what do you guys and gals think?

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see GOTG chock full of *at least* cameos from cosmic Marvel. It's definitely a golden opportunity to at least introduce the Kree as a race, if not drum up "name" characters like Ronan and Mar-Vell.

^I wouldnt even mind then mentioning The Accuser or the Worldmind or something, I just hope we get some acknowledgement of their existence if we arent going to get a cameo.

a little Kree namedropping would be wise if MS intends to do anything with the Cpt./Ms. Marvel property in the near future

Well yeah, the Vell family, Ronan and The Supreme Intellegence definately need a mention, especially if things like Annihilation are in the works.

I am actually starting to think a mention or cameo of Ronan could be essential after reading War Of Kings (which dissapointingly he was hardly in), but that makes him part of every major cosmic event recently, and it seems they are going in that direction for GOTG, so yes, get Ronan in there somewere please Mr Gunn. Plus you never know, GOTG may lead into an Annihilators movie, in which Ronan would be pretty important.

Of course, it helps that he is an awesome character. And seeing his hammer on screen would be almost as good as seeing the character himself.

So the kree, all one color or the racial divide?

If you use traditional "Caucasian" Captain Mar-Vell, then you gotta have the Pink Kree. Otherwise, blue skin is fine.

I think eventually we will see both, but if only Mar-Vell or Ronan make into the first movie, just show them and they can expand on the race further in sequels.

Personally, just a cameo from Ronan would do me for now, just to show they have plans for him.

That would be awesome. I would love to see Ronan

Kree-Skrull conflict is integral to the cosmic Marvel universe. Hopefully they show up at some point.

^Does Marvel own the rights to Super-Skrull? Kinda doubt it but just thought i'd ask, loved him in Annihilation and Conquest, his interplay with Ronan was great, they both hate each other but yet have massive respect for one another at the same time.

i would dig a kree/skrull war movie or just a backstory. just 2 battalions somewhere in a sector of space, fighting each other. each side has a new recruit who gets the explanation of why they fight each other. could even be a marvel short.

Strangely enough, Feige, when asked directly about this many moons ago, said that Marvel Studios can use the name "Skrulls" in their movies, but Super-Skrull himself is the property of Fox. I guess because his powers were all Fantastic Four knockoffs.

I think even a mention of the war from one of the GOTG would be enough. In Annihilation Conquest, when Star-Lord is recruiting, they all come from Kree prison, not sure if they keeping that for the movie but i'm sure one of the descriptions says they are alll ex-cons.

So they can use the race but not SS, shame, he has been awesome in some of the cosmic stuff lately, especially Annihilation.

Figure this thread needs a bump with the latest rumours, Ronan possibly as the bad guy of the movie? What do people think?

I want to see him in the movie badly and think he would make a great bad-guy, maybe as a lackey to Thanos. He has the power the skills to be a good fight for the GOTG, though Drax SHOULD be able to put him down, he would in the comics I think.

I would want him to turn good at the end though, he needs to be a good guy primarily but being a bad guy at first would fit with the comics.

I agree with you on him turning good, but I do't want him as Thanos' lackey. I'm not sure where, but I know I saw something about James Gunn saying the villain wasn't anyone's "B***h"

I will currently place my money on "Ronan is the alien super-cop pursuing the 'criminal' Guardians. Eventually, the Guardians and Ronan reluctantly ally against a larger foe."

yeah ronan isn't a lackey, he is a patriot to a fault. he follows the kree agenda, he will even disobey the supreme intelligence if it means the kree way of life is somehow, in his mind, not followed through.

This was what I assumed the Nova Corps would be doing, back when their involvement was rumored. So Nova Corps and Ronan -- allies? Or at odds with one another? Or no interactions at all?

So I guess if true Lee Pace is Ronan. Not someone I would have thought of for Ronan but I'm not against it. I hope the let him keep his hammer.

It's a cool idea. The Kree open things up for captain marvel too!

Yeah, Ronan is cool and all that, but the Kree rumors have me *a lot* more excited because of what's implicit in introducing Mar-Vell and Carol Danvers. Somewhere. Sometime.

Well personally I am much more excited for Ronan himself, I never even knew he existed until I read Annihilation. I read comics as a kid but it was all 2000AD stuff, never got into Marvel or DC until 2006 so Annihilation was my first exposure to him and I have loved him, and all the characters involved, since.

I have since read quite a bit of Ronan and he is one of my favourite characters, along with Drax, Nova, and basically all of the cosmic characters. I find the cosmic side of things in Marvel a lot more interesting. Annihilation Conquest, War Of Kings, Realm Of Kings, The Thanos imperitave and then The Annihilators all had quite a bit of Ronan and the other characters from Annihilation in them and I really enjoyed them all.

And yeah, Ronan wouldnt be a lackey, I would prefer Thanos manipulated him somehow into going after the GOTG and trying to destroy them, only to realise later that he was being played, and then he would help the GOTG against him. One of the early synopsis's for the movie mentioned the GOTG are criminals, maybe they escape from a Kree prison and that is why Ronan is sent after them?
