ok...i just finished reading ronin and i am a HUGE frank miller fan, but all i have to say is....what the hell? can someone explain to me what the end was all about and just what the hell just happened?

The whole Samurai thing? That was a Japanese T.V. show that Billy used to watch and his powers allowed him to make it real. The A.I of the computer simply took advantage of it so it could make it's move towards world domination. Cassidy, within the fantasy that Billy was making, cut him off from the computer,(Through the fine art of Hari kari) and then he destroyed the entire Aquarius or whatever the hell it was called.

When they showed the Ronin fighting the robots to the Japanese business men. One of them commented on how nice it was that they included a robot for the demonstration that looked like the main character from his favorite childhood t.v. show, Ronin.

oh...well i feel like a dumb***, thats kinda gay...this has to be my least favorite frank miller book

I thought it was pretty good. If you simply wanted the Samurai story, just watch Samurai Jack, they totally ripped that part off from Miller.

yes, but they did a much better job with the premise

I haven't read it in awhile, but I thought it was left up in the air that it was either inspired by the cartoon show, or it really was ancient spirits

I agree. Samurai Jack was much better.

me too, i really enjoyed samurai jack but i did not like ronin at all

Yah Ronin kind of lost me at the end, I understood it, but it just didn't appeal to me. The rest of the book is great though.

the story is confusing yes, but to me the art was the worst part of it all. sometimes i couldnt even tell what was happening

I liked it, really cool, trippy stuff.

I'm not completely sure if I get the very last page, though. Does that mean that Billy still has the delusion of being Ronin?

The ending is intentionally ambiguous, but the overall point is that Virgo is no longer in control of the situation.
This book is a masterpiece, almost flawless.
If DKR is Miller's Watchmen, then Ronin is his V For Vendetta
