Many would say that this show jumped the shark during its final season. I'd say it was WAY before that. I lost interest in this show when it started to revolve around Becky & Mark and Darlenne & David.

Right now I just saw the pilot episode on Nick at Nite. What a great pilot. Roseanne dealing with Dan not doing much around the house. Roseanne dealing with b.s. at work (a young George Clooney plays her boss). Roseanne dealing with dumb teachers. Great stuff. During the early seasons most episodes revolved around that stuff.

They should have sticked to that instead of the teen soap opera.

I just couldn't stand those Becky-Mark episodes. It was too teen soap opera-esque. I wouldn't have minded a few episodes, but it seemed like every other episodes revolved around Becky getting mad and running away from home and hooking up with Mark and crap like that. It just took away what the show was about...a woman trying to balance work and family.

The early stuff was great. It ws best the first two seasons when Whedon was a writer on it :)

The final season was a bit of a mind****, especially when you find out in the finale that most of the show was suppose to be stuff that Roseanne wrote in a story and wasn't real.

Dan died, Jackie was a lesbian, Becky actually ended up with David while Darlene ended up with Mark.

i thot it was pretty cool actually.

Yeah I actually liked the series finale

The last season was supposed to be a mind**** really.

It was a good show..it did jump the shark during the last season IMO

The series finale is IMO one of the all-time best series finales in TV history, along with MASH, Angel, Arrested Development and Battlestar Galactica.

I liked all the seasons! It's so nice to be able to see the re-runs on tv-land.

My favorite episodes include the one where Darlene reads her poem before the school, the one where Jackie's boyfriend Fischer beats her and the one where Becky gets married and runs away.

I just love the characters, really, which IMO is uncommon for sitcoms of the time.

I think its impossible to not like John Goodman.

would some one call tv land get rid of roseann. i liked the ealry season. they show it 10 times a day. i want my classic shows back on.

I LOVE Roseanne, one of the best family comedies ever! To bad the dvds got messed up.

I liked that show but never saw the final season . I lost interest after they won the lottery . I remember they almost killed off Dan that was big thing

You should really watch the last season...

I liked the series finale as well. Like nothing exactly like that had been done before I mean theyve done "it was all just a dream" before. But the way they did it with it all being about her life the way it woulda made the most sense to her was imho great storytelling. Plus how ****ing sad was it when you first discovered Dan was actually dead. Im tearing up thinking about it Dan Connor is imo maybe the best ever sitcom dad

I just didnt care for the "Dan cheats on Roseanne" storyline. She explained it just fine in the series finale, but I still think its ****ed up. Real or fictional, Dan never would have done that.

Yea I agree Sawyer that part was totally out of character. We all know Dan Connor would NEVER cheat. He just wasnt that type of guy

Agreed. Poor or not, I'd have loved to be in that family.

I actually thought Roseanne and John Goodman were married in real life. They are by far the most convincing TV couple ever. They work so well together, it's ridiculous.
