The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rotten Tomatoes score? - Part 3

Are we still talking about Man of Steel in order to avoid talking about this film's ratings? It was pathetic yesterday and it's pathetic today.

I honestly see this film going into the 40's.

We're obsessed with Superman! lol ;)

Now seriously, this movie does deserves the poor reviews (unlike others, more serious and mature). :word:

Tee, you and Soto got some splaining to do. You 2, along with me, disliked TASM1. Both of you praise the film and let the critics bash it.

You 2 being paid by Sony and if so, why wasn't I involved?

Maybe :sus I liked the film, imo it addressed most the complaints I had with the first one. It's vastly better than TASM.:woot:

56%, huh? Guess I hit the nail on the head when I said this was the Man of Steel of Spider-Man films... I'll find out for sure tomorrow.

Not really. Because errr...it isn't. Unless you are basing everything on RT score of a film you haven't seen.

I went to bed in a world where this was fresh. Woke up to it dropping 5 points and is now rotten.

It is official, we need to unbanning Avenging Spidey. We need his explanation for how he thought the American critics would bring TASM 2 back up to 80 :funny:

In Naite's defence I would totally rock a MOS avatar of Supes. The costume is one of the best adaptations to date, it doesn't necessarily mean he loves the movie. He clearly just stated it sucked lol?
It took an insanely awesome TWS for me to part with my MOS avatar.

...is your avatar supposed to be ironic or something?

Nope. My Avatar represents one of the few things that did work in mos; Superman him self, plus the actor playing him! My love for superman goes deep. But still, MOS as a film sucked. Especially from a storytelling point of view. And in that departement tasm2 was still much, much better! Thus, for that reason alone, tasm2 deserves a higher rating than mos.

Another negative review added:

The only truly amazing things in this hyper, bloated re-dux are the actors, whom director Marc Webb lets fly with some remarkably poignant stuff in between all the surrounding noise.

I assumed TWS made an impression, given how much of an MoS fan you are.

Honestly, I don't think I'll be seeing TASM2 in the theaters. Was only barely on the fence to begin with prior to all the recent reviews, but I think I'll probably just wait.

LOL!!!! He would still be defending this and saying it will balloon up like STID :hehe:

I don't know about IMBD spider man only has a 7.4 witch is way lower then dark knight and I would say from looking on forms that they are both consider great movies and close to eatch other.

Can we unban Avenging? I would like some entertainment.

It's amazing.

I've actually seen people change their minds on a movie once they see the RT score.

Well the truth is that the RT numbers are usually right more times than it's wrong. Not saying it's the end all, be all of movie Gods... But for someone who was wary of the last film (ME) and not interested in wasting their money or can wait for the rental it works for the most part. It's still a form of word of mouth.

Besides its not to often that I'm watching a film I waited to see on Blu-ray or DVD where I'm saying to myself "Darn why didn't I see this in theaters" anyway and the few that are I'll make it up by eventually buying it.

So that's still Rental price + Blu-ray purchase = profit.

So, according to Rotten Tomatoes, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is actually WORSE than Spider-Man 3. Currently, standing at 56%.

And yet, people wonder why I hate and don't value the opinions on that site whatsoever.

I watched the movie found it just as bad if not worse than Spider-man 3. For me the initial 75% rating was just weird and made me doubt RT ;)

It's really not people giving bad reviews because they want the franchise to fail, some people (most of my theatre judging by hallway conversations after the movie) just found this movie bad and lacking.

I'm getting a sence for some people it's not about enjoying the movie or not, it's about rooting for a movie to do better than the other guy's movie.

I honestly found Man Of Steel more enjoyable and I hated the tone and don't even like DC Comics. Wouldn't be surprised if TASM 2 scored lower on RT than MOS, however I am surprised at how fast TASM 2 rating is dropping...

How and when did AvengingSpidey get banned?

Yep, cause weak villains and silliness is better... :whatever:

MOS is vastly superior and many rank it among the best:

MOS among the best four according to AMC poll:

1) Avengers - 12,722
2) The Dark Knight - 10,105
3) Man of Steel - 6,365
4) Iron Man - 3,748

I don't think TASM2 is going to win many polls or be considered among the best... and you know it. ;)

I am so curious about how the reviews will effect the first weekend. They might have more of an effect down the road, especially with the competition, but it has been so bad and it this could be the kind of film general audiences aren't sure about. Not after the apathetic feeling for the first film.

That is insanely awesome. Every time I see it I want to watch the movie again. :yay:
It is thanks to our very own by Kane52630. He did a fantastic job. :awesome:

Yeah, I love it. Seen it four times in theaters.

I will definitely be seeing TASM 2 in theaters. Too curious, Emma Stone being adorable, and I already bought my tickets.

Usually the movies I wish I could have seen in the theater are smaller films that just didn't have a wide enough release. The theaters in my town pretty much only show wide releases. I definitely think RT can serve as a consumer protection guide if you want to avoid getting ripped off.

What about Anno?

How and when did AvengingSpidey get banned?

He was a previously banned user on here who came back under a new name.
