It does go both ways but one side is a little more feverish about the reviews than the other. The poll here showed that before it was closed down. People here were voting 10/10 before press screenings across the pond. One side is a little more "crazy" than the other. That is the fanboy. There are more 10/10 reviews than 0/10 reviews before it opened up in the first country. You can count for yourself.
Futhermore, if more trolls voted 0/10 than fanboys voting 10/10, the average score would have been going up as people are being fair now since actually seeing the film. The bottom line is, this movie is going down in audience score because it's not a good movie and it was being pumped up before hand.
Critics' views and opinions on comic book movies have changed a lot over the years. If Spider-Man 3 was released today, it would get a rotten rating.
Anyways, audiences seem to generally like it, and that's usually what I pay attention to.
But they are also usually accurate. While I like both IM3 and TDW, after reflecting upon them I think their RT scores were correct due to their inherent flaws. I haven't seen TASM2 yet, but I think the score will probably be just as true as it does for other CBM.
Yeah it's a sad world we live in when Spider-Man 3 is rated higher![]()

Smells like confirmation bias to me. I think you'll need a much larger sample size than one or two movies to say something like that conclusively.Rotten Tomatoes...
I just watched a movie (no names) that was 85% with the critics (65% users) and I absolutely HATED IT!
Increasingly finding myself agreeing with the user rating.
