The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rotten Tomatoes score? - Part 4

My mouth is literally open right now after reading its current critic score. 55%!! I mean damn i feel like I watched a different movie.....I thought it was awesome

Yeah it's a sad world we live in when Spider-Man 3 is rated higher :csad:

It does go both ways but one side is a little more feverish about the reviews than the other. The poll here showed that before it was closed down. People here were voting 10/10 before press screenings across the pond. One side is a little more "crazy" than the other. That is the fanboy. There are more 10/10 reviews than 0/10 reviews before it opened up in the first country. You can count for yourself.

Futhermore, if more trolls voted 0/10 than fanboys voting 10/10, the average score would have been going up as people are being fair now since actually seeing the film. The bottom line is, this movie is going down in audience score because it's not a good movie and it was being pumped up before hand.

If forums are anything to go by I'd say it's quite even. Trolls equals numbers of fanboys as they are fanboys of other products like DC v Marvel. I've never understood it as you get the best of both worlds when you read from both.

Critics' views and opinions on comic book movies have changed a lot over the years. If Spider-Man 3 was released today, it would get a rotten rating.

Anyways, audiences seem to generally like it, and that's usually what I pay attention to.

True.

But they are also usually accurate. While I like both IM3 and TDW, after reflecting upon them I think their RT scores were correct due to their inherent flaws. I haven't seen TASM2 yet, but I think the score will probably be just as true as it does for other CBM.

You are still giving critics too much power on how you view films.
JUDGE THE films yourself.

Don't let critics influence you like that.
If you think a film is great or very good then say that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like I must have watched a different movie than critics. I thought it was the second best film Spidey has ever gotten. Its absolute comic book gold.

^^^ Yeah, I was pretty startled at how much the film played for me versus the critics. And the thing is I went in expecting a pretty bad film. I've now seen it in 2D and 3D IMAX. I HIGHLY recommend 3D IMAX. Amazing experience.

I too must have watched a different movie. Wow. There's no way this is as bad as X-men 3 or spider-man 3. This was one of the best CBMs I've seen

ITs pretty much divided critics down the middle it seems.

I liked it a lot my first viewing, but second viewing fell apart for me hard and I started noticing more flaws, still like it over all, but It is quite a mess going to put air down to 7 or 7.5/10

I personally liked this one a tad more that the first.

I think people were expecting the usual 'sequel will be better' formula like TDK series or Raimi's Spider-Man. Instead of ASM2 being better than ASM1 it was just about the same and ppl don't seem to like that.

Rotten Tomatoes...

I just watched a movie (no names) that was 85% with the critics (65% users) and I absolutely HATED IT!
Increasingly finding myself agreeing with the user rating.

Smells like confirmation bias to me. I think you'll need a much larger sample size than one or two movies to say something like that conclusively.

I used to like the critic scores but I've been agreeing with user scores more lately as well.

You didn't agree with the avg user then either since almost 2/3rds voted they liked the film and scored it 3.5 out of 5 and higher - not that they all graded it a 65.

Saw the movie last night for the first time and I agree. It doesn't deserve the RT rating of 54% or whatever it currently is at the moment, imo. Criticisms are noted and I believe that there are flaws within this film but I actually really, really enjoyed this movie.

Missing Supergirl and Steel (yes Steel had an actual theatrical release, although limited I'm sure)

The audience rating is down to 74% now. I wonder how low it will drop to.

It really should not be dropping that quickly....

It's dropping because it was pumped up and people were voting 10/10 before even seeing the movie.
