So now we have seen Routh acting and heard his delivery as the man of steel how do you feel about our new Superman now ?

I was one that felt he looked to young and was not confident in him but I'm happy to say that after this last set of footage i was WRONG
Routh i think is gonna bring the presence and charm the role requires
Ive been particularly impressed with his separation of the various persona's

it is nice to see that you changed your mind. well you changed it after you saw some acting right?

i am happy.

yeah i also think that brandon will do the role justice

he's got the look, no doubt about it... but i'm still on the fence about his acting. his delivery in the trailers/tv spots has ranged from spectacular to dismal... i'll reserve judgement until i see the film, though.

I'm backing him. I think he'll do a bang up job.

As I've said before - he's adequate. No more, no less. I don't think he was the absolute best choice for the role, but he's also not the absolute worst. He was a 'safe' choice, I guess. Thus, adequate.

no i always knew brandon would pull it off  :o

Yeah, he's looking pretty good in the spots. Obviously I'll wait until June 30th for final judgement, but so far, I like the way he sounds and looks.

This is why I liked the notion of casting an unknown - the curiousity it brings to the project, as well as an unknown being able to "hide" in the role. It worked with Christian Bale last year being somewhat of an unknown, let's hope it works again with Brandon.

I'm an on again off again of One Life to Live so I've seen him on the show. However I can't remember what he was like as Seth. It could be because he was part of the younger stories and I wasn't into them. I may have tapes with him on them, but I wouldnt' know where to look

Anyway upon hearing about first casting my first thought was doubt or anxiety. Oh sure I thought he looked the part. I love love Superman and I kept thinking "oh he's going to screw it up" Totally unfair to Routh. But I had not yet seeing or heard him action. Now that I've seen some of the tv spots and trailers I'm hooked. He has a great voice for Superman. I like the fact that as Clark he maybe not so nerdy as Christopher Reeve's Clark.

I'm looking forward to the movie. It's the one movie so far this year that I cannot miss. I've enjoyed the various tv incarnations of Superman/Clark(Smallville being my favorite). I've waited and wanted for so long for there to be a new Superman movie.

I still think he is Christopher Reeve part 2. I believe that if Chris was still alive and able to play the role and stuff he would have gotten cast.

ARE YOU ****ing KIDDING ME!?! This was thebest that we could come up with for Superman? just these morons? Thank GOd for Brandon Routh... all i got to say is Bomer looks like Tobey Meguire, thats all we needed a Spidey Superman :-P Canvial looks a little fruity and rest are BLAH!!!

I've been one of Routh's biggest supporters from the time he was cast. From what I've seen so far with the trailers, and tv spots he seems like he'll do a very good job, final judgement of course will come after I've seen the movie

I have had no problem with Routh from the beginning, I thought he had the look of both Superman and Clark. He has just given by confidence a boost with every photo I see and every snippit of footage. I will of course wait until June 30th to make the proper judgement.

My opinion on Routh and the suit has flipped 180 degrees.

At first I thought the casting was just "meh," and the suit was absolutely HORRIBLE.

But now, after seeing some footage, I must say that I find both Routh and the suit are fantastic.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!

I was skeptical at first, and I still have some doubts, but he's becoming more and more convincing as time goes by.

Me too I cant wait to see this movie! I hope it is as promising as all of the mini trailers and tv clips that have been released for us to see.

Looks awesome so far.

Routh looks good as Superman - but I'll have to wait to see the movie it say if his acting can match that uniform and the \S/.

The \S/ on the uniform is to small in my opinion and the cape is to bland in color - maybe they fixed it with all that fancy technology to be abit more red before the acctual release - /shrug.

But from the looks of the clips, Routh, Kate,Kevin and Brians work - it looks like the promise of hope for the Summer :)

I Really really really wish FOX would have waited for Brian to have later have done the XM-3 movie, but that is out of the loop now, and we have to settle for what we get.

Brian could have knocked that one out of the ball park to.

I reserved judgment right from the get-go on his ability to shine (or stink) in the role. But looking at a little bit of his previous work on Cold Case and Gilmore Girls (which is a horrible show to begin with) he impressed me in both. I do feel that some actors can have a lousy take, but it's up to the director to get the best out of them. I mean, look at the new Star Wars Trilogy. Samuel L. Jackson has turned in the worst performances of his career under the mighty direction of George Lucas. Even John McTiernan got a deeper performance from him...and for a Die Hard sequel no less. But back to the point at hand. From what I've seen of him so far, Routh will do fine because it's obvious he's separating the role into distinct parts that are actually buyable. Unlike someone like Dean Cain who just sucked comprehensively, if you ask me.

you and about 20 million of us think the same on that one

Routh himself seems like a very nice, down-to-earth fellow, and hopefully that should transfer to Superman/Clark Kent. He also seems pretty intelligent and while probably not a great or even good actor, I think he'll grow into one just like Russell Crowe did.

I think Superman Returns II will see Routh even better. He'll be buffer, a better actor, more experienced with the flying techniques, and will look older and more mature. Now if we can get a costume with a lower neckline and a more regal cape, it'll be perfect.

He's actually not looking too bad as big blue.

What he needs is a better suit and some better stylists and he'll get the look down perfectly. I don't know what they do to make his face change every frame but they need to stop it.

The voice: perfect
The look: needs work
The acting: really can't say yet but outlooks are good.

Routh looks like a giant Ken Doll. :down

They should have hired an actual man. In other words, Jim Caviezel.
