The Amazing Spider-Man Rules for the Reboot

(note, I really don't think SM3 is God Awful, but I love to ruffle the Raimi Lovers' feathers,

That's called trolling. Take some time off to think about how that's not nice.

Funny... they tell me as human being I'm supposed to find comfort in continuity.

Just proof that comic book fanboys aren't human beings......:awesome:

This one should show Flash Thompson's love for Spider-Man and hate for Parker. Something that was sadly lacking in the prior movies.

This right here. It makes Flash more of a 'complex' and enduring character than just a cliche bully.

Flash is great when you have years and years to tell stories. In a trilogy situation, I could care less about Flash. There are far too many more important characters fighting for screen time. Now if Flash is only used in the first film then that is fine. It could show Pete's high school situation. But, if he is a major player in the entire trilogy, then it will be lame. All Flash is character wise is a bully to Peter and a fan to Spider-Man.

the goblin needs to be built up to at least the second movie, sorry to people moaning but you need him, it's like not having joker or lex. at some point they have to be there

But I'm not saying that we should have a character arc with Flash.

It doesn't have to be big scenes but short ones where he's showing his love for Spider-Man right infront of Parker. Even if it's a comedic blurb, it'll make you appreciate that's not just a stereotype.

I disagree. It's not having Joker or Lex. With Batman you think Joker.

Batman Joker
Superman Lex
Fantastic Four Doom

But with Spiderman
I think Chameleon
Some think Doc Ock
Others Venom
And some Green Goblin

Like Hulk with the debate of Abomination and Leader, Spider-man has no Joker or Lex.

no not really 90% of people who think of spidey think goblin as his main foe, the rest would think ock.

you can't argue the fact that osborne is spider-mans opposite he has to be used in this series at some point. hell even the cartoon build up to norman donning the spandex

I have to agree with the notion that Spider-Man has no definitive arch-nemesis. With characters like the Joker, you have the exact polar opposite of your hero, challenging them physically, emotionally, mentally. The vast majority of Spider-Man's villains, however, are simply thuggish or Bison-esque in their motivations. In fact, most of them used to be just that. Thugs. Which is fine, because when I think of Spider-Man, I just think of Spider-Man. It's all about who he is and the lesson he has to learn.

Now, there are some villains who teach him certain lessons that I like better for the character's arc than others, and some who have cooler powers than others, but none of them really stand out to me in the terms of Spider-Man being paper, Villain X being scissors.

Hardcore Spidey comic fans might be that way....perhaps. Not so the general public, IMO. Not like Joker/Batman(which is actually more recent in the GA's mind...basically just since Batman'89) or like Luthor/Superman(probably the most cemented when it comes to GA perceptions).

To the general public, I'd guess that Venom is the most recognized one, with maybe Doc Ock being second.

And that's why there have been 5 official superman movies in the last 30 odd years and only 2 of them are worth watching. Casting the same villain in 4 out of the 5 movies is one of many reasons why 5 films of a popular character have been made within the span of 3 decades.

Garfield is a looker, more so than Tobey. You know his mask will be off as much as possible.

Or they can make the scenes where Garfield isn't in costume actually exciting to watch.

Take the Iron Man movies, I think I'm convinced that I enjoy seeing Stark more without him in the suit.

Very, very true. However, you still see Stark's face in the armor during action scenes in Iron Man.

But I still agree with you. We need a Peter with a personality.

They could do something like Iron Man where we see Garfield's face inside the mask like we do with Tony. Maybe Webb can think of something like that.

That's a really good idea I think.
